Play, Play, and More Play

July 10, 2022 by Grace

Today was a busy one here in the chimp house, but I still had to stop to catch little snip-bits of Burrito playing throughout the day. There is nothing better than the sound of his breathy pants when he gets really into a play session, and today he couldn’t be stopped! Both Annie and Foxie got in on his good mood this morning and I felt it had to be shared!

Although we often share him playing, when he does decide to relax – he is the *master* of chill. See photo for reference:

On the other side of the chimp house, Caregiver Chad caught Dora taking a mid-morning, post breakfast nap in the Oakwood Greenhouse.

She caught on quick though.

In other news, a few weeks ago we introduced a new addition to our chimp house family – a full sized human skeleton, that we lovingly named Kirk! He seems to be settling into the routine here pretty well so far…

Which caregiver do you think is responsible for us discovering this when we got to work this morning? It’s still a mystery to us! (But I’m looking at you, Diana)

    Hi. Grace!
Nah, Saturday night + bathroom humor = one of the guys. If Anthony isn’t on Saturday nights, then JB.
I see Jamie has been an influence on Burrito…he’s picked up her “motorcycle move on Foxie’s ears”. Eveyone can decide f that’s good or bad 😉

Thanks, Grace, for “gracing” us with such delightful music and the chimps’ antics to go with it! I think the game of ‘ear tug’ should be known throughout the land. Now about the skeleton on the thone — Gotta love those pink boots and magazine enhancements. Jamie and Cy must be shown pics of that creative effort on “someone’s” part! Thanks to whomever for enriching my afternoon!

Who comes up with the great music which accompanies some of the blogs? This sounds like zither.

It comes from the catog of free music available on YT. I know this one because I have come to think of it as “Bea Caruso’s music”-not because she wrote it, but because it’s in most of her videos. The same way a certain guitar piece, when used by YouTubers, makes me think of Burrito

Oh I so needed this video! Burrito tugging Foxie’s ears made me laugh out loud; something I need to do more often. Burrito is the epitome of being a kid at heart!:yellow_heart::green_heart::blue_heart:

I think Kirk needs to be wheeled around the chimp house with his book and boots – I’m sure Jamie and Cy would get a kick out of that!

I’m still waiting to hear what Foxie thinks of this thing…in the past, she was horrified at the sight of a bony hand

No such thing as too much Burrito! Never ever. As far as his goofy play sessions, what’s that old saying…..”It’s all fun and games until someone looses an….ear!” And I loved the slow-mo somersault. Mr. B was looking right at you.

As far a Kirk goes, I have a funny feeling he’ll be popping up in all sorts of funny situations from here on out. But this set up was clearly devised by Jamie and Cy.
