She’s Back… Again?

June 1, 2022 by Kelsi

This morning Negra was reunited with her group! Everyone was so excited to welcome her back. Jody, Missy, and Foxie gave her warm greetings and immediately went to check out how she was healing! Negra was able to spend the morning sitting out on Young’s Hill and napping in her favorite spot in the green house. Unfortunately, in the early afternoon between the chimp nurses and Burrito displaying and scaring Negra, some of her external sutures were not holding up too well. We decided to isolate her again until Dr. Erin could come take a look. So Negra spent the afternoon watching Lord of the Dance, nesting, and having her caregivers dance for her as well ;).

Negra finally back on the Hill this morning:

“…her external sutures were not holding up too well. We decided to isolate her again until Dr. Erin could come take a look.” Isn’t the residemt dermatologist on hand? I am sure that Dr. Missy would love to lend a hand (two hands, to be exact) to Neggie’s sutures.

Even so, I am glad that Neggie was able to go outside. I only wish that Burrito could have refrained from a display, but…he’s only simian. Besides which, Neggie had appointment with the Lord of the Dance.

Sounds like Dr Missy (“the chimp nurses”) may have been part of the problem

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I bet Negra was quite pleased to have the opportunity to sit on Young’s Hill, see her friends, and nap in her favorite place. But…something tells she wasn’t too disappointed to be back in her private suite!

Lord of the Dance! Are you kidding me?! Oh yea, Negra is digging all this pampered private time. I bet if you look under her pillow there’s a little note that reads :
    “Dear Dr. Erin,
Please do not feel you need to rush over on my account. I am doing the best I can to heal and everyone is spoiling me silly as per your prescription.
    XOXO,
    Neggie
ps: When you do come, would you please swing by the market and pick me up some Hawaiian Rolls?”

Isn’t wonderful we have Negra in our lives to love so very much?!
