In today’s blog, we caregivers wish to express some heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the sanctuary residents. Our good friend Jenara Miller sponsored today, May 31, in honor of Carrie Miller’s birthday. Carrie is a dedicated and generous supporter of the sanctuary and we’re excited to celebrate their birthday here on the blog!
To accompany our best wishes, we’ve included some new photos of their beloved chimpanzee pals (below).

Happy Happy birthday, Carrie!
I wonder….will Cy be like Jamie, with an interest in vehicles?
Perhaps! Cy’s group has a great view of the driveway, all the way down to the highway, so they see an abundance of vehicles (and the occasional train). 🙂
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARRIE……….they seem to come faster for me these days………….
How terrific to end the month of May and kick off summer all on your birthday! Happy days to you!
Look at little Dora getting her Hoot on! Beautiful photo of Lucky. She isn’t seen as much so this image is appreciated. Loved Cy the Security Guard keeping a tight eye on the comings and goings of you humans. He appears to be all business!
I know right?! I can just picture Cy patrolling the perimeter of the Bray. I can’t wait!
thank you, anthony.
nice sactuary you all there.

Happy Birthday, Carrie! Anthony, the picture of Lucky is adorable and I wonder what little Dora is hooting about?
looks like a “life is good!” hoot to me!
Thanks for all the birthday cheer and the really charming photos right up to the great pic of Cy, attentively awaiting his ride to the library! lol XD
“his ride to the library” 🙂
I love it!
I agree. I think that it Cy deserves a library card to the Cle Elum Public Library.
I thought he was made an honorary member for his birthday present?
Yes! Back in March…

:birthday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARRIE!!!:birthday:

On something completely different:
How is it going with the volunteers for the fencing and structures building. I just watched ( again ) the video in which people are encouraged to volunteer….so how is that going??
Hey Marianne! Right now, J.B. is still preparing the materials and the Sage Mechanical team (Gary, Aaron and Jose on most days) have been finishing all the welding on the steel corner posts. They’ve also been busy fabricating and installing a new section of overhead chute which will connect the existing building to The Bray. I’m not sure exactly when the volunteers are going to begin attaching insulators and running wires for the new perimeter fence, but it should be sometime in early summer.
