Happy 38th Birthday Burrito!

January 6, 2021 by Kelsi

Today we celebrated Burrito’s 38th birthday! The fact that Burrito has a birthday today fills my heart with more joy than words can express, and I am sure I am not alone. It is fun to watch Burrito get back to his old self, but also to see him grow more as well. For example, Burrito going for walks/runs around the Hill on his own or Jamie letting him join too. Don’t quote me on this because it may not last forever, he does do big displays, but overall he seems more relaxed. Every day with Burrito is a blessing. Burrito is loved by many all over the country. Burrito has the most infectious laugh and smile, he is sweet, he is funny, he is also wild at times, and he is that bright light we all need. I think Chad said it best yesterday! If you are like, “What did Chad say yesterday”? You must read yesterday’s blog and then come back to this video!

This guy spent his day doing all of his favorite things. He played, non-stop! We had a snow party before lunch, he groomed with friends, ran around the Hill, played some more, and of course ate pasta! Due to popular demand, the pasta cam is back! The food squeaks in this video are unbelievable, look out for Jody’s. Burrito had a great day and we hope you did too!

Happy Birthday Bubba!!!! So glad you had such a great day. Bring on the carbs! Good plan to insist on a second helping to take with you upstairs. No point in carb loading if you’re going to burn it all off climbing up and down to get more.
I love Mave spitting aside the veggies and passing back the sweet potatoes, before settling in to enjoy the pasta. She’s adorable.
Thank you to all of you at CSN. You are an awesome bunch. Not only do you bend over backwards to give these amazing beings the best possible life, you extend yourself as far as fulfilling our requests on top of it. So a big thanks for the pasta cam.

Happy Birthday, Burrito. And thank you, Kelsi! Such a fun day everyone seemed to have had. I loved the laughter and the sounds and the pleasure and the sounds and the erect movement. Did I mention that I loved the vocalizations?

Oh, dear, adorable Burrito. May all of the joie de vivre which you exude envelope you in your new year of life. And, may you be the recipient of many a birthday tickle by your friends.

What an amazing celebration. The parties at CSNW look like so much FUN for everyone. Thank you for making them so special and going way above and beyond for all of the Chimps! This video shows the happiness you bring to all these wonderful Chimp people. Thank you so much for all you do. It makes me so happy to see them so excited and content and having fun. As it should be. Thank you for giving these gifts to them each and every day. Happy birthday sweet Burrito.

Best 7 minutes in a long time, Kelsi! Thanks for humoring us with the pasta cam! We do indeed love to hear how happy each one is!
Beat boxing with Foxie, tickles from Neggie, snow and pasta! Looks like Bubba couldn’t ask for more! (Except a 5th pasta boat, ’cause, you know, Foxie and Burrito get more!) Foxie spitting out the pepper for later and going for the pasta before it was gone…she got that name somewhere!
What stole the show, though, was Jo’s dinosaur groans….lol, I’m sure people new to the sanctuary are watching it on YT and wondering…”WHAT am I hearing!?” ๐Ÿ˜›
And oh.my.heart! When you gave Neggie her boat and got a thank you kiss! That did it for me! Gonna watch this one over and over!
    Haply epiphany/Bubday, everyone!

Such a great build-up for today’s festivities in yesterday’s wonderful posting. It’s a delight to watch everyone enjoy their carbs in celebrating Burrito’s birthday. All that playing and cavorting makes one very hungry. What a treat it has been to have today’s video and pics to look forward to! Thank you, chimps and all!

Well this day, this glorious birthday day, turned out better than I could have imagined! Thank you for the live pasta cam, you guys are too good to all of us. Hysterical! (To Linda, seriously, how happy are you about this?!). And man that food looked scrumptious. I could listen to their food grunts and squeaks, and (Jody!) groans all day long. Mave was so funny setting aside that sweet potato (?), leaving it teetering on the caging so she could slurp into that pasta. And Neggie and Burrito playing is always a crack up. What fun, I love your parties because everyone gets to celebrate as if it is their own special day. And it is, you make it so.

Happy Birthday Burrito. As always, you delivered the laughs and smiles when I needed it most. Sweet pasta dreams to you tonight!

I am MOST happy, Kathleen! What’s not to like about pasta cam!? We get to see/hear their reactions, and the grunts and groans of satisfaction make me smile! This time around, Jamie seemed even more excited than Burrito, who was too busy playing!
Pasta cam….a present for everyone to enjoy! ๐Ÿ˜€

Did Mave save those veggies for later?

I think that Mave does NOT like onions, and who can blame her….
I also thought that she put the pumpkin aside for later, save the best for last?

Yes! Her first priority was pasta, then she could eat the veggies ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy happy birthday Buritto you handsome guy!!

Watching them play and run around and just being chimps I have that tendency to forget how old they actually are. I see them as 5 or 6. But we project our human experiences. Iโ€™m just so glad theyโ€™re healthy and happy so we can continue the joy we feel from them.
