To Know Honey B

July 1, 2020 by Kelsi

Be loud. Be proud. Be different. Honey B might be a great example of this. Every chimp is unique. They have different preferences, needs, and wants.

Honey B is unlike anyone I have ever met. She is a goof, but she also needs you to take her seriously. She knows what she likes, but is curious to try most new things. She is curious but questions everything. She is always up to something which keeps us on our toes. She is funny and knows it. She seems comfortable with who she is. Honey B has a certain level of intensity that pulls you in or better yet draws you in. I am constantly mesmerized by her. Sometimes it’s because she creatively used enrichment, often it’s because we just played a crazy game of chase that turned into her making up new moves, I actually have a very hard time not laughing out loud when she does something crazy awesome, and other times it’s the intensity of her grooming you. When she grooms you, you are the only one in the room. Honey B is a loyal friend to have, however, Honey B also knows how to stir the pot and then watch the chaos unfold. Also, we can’t forget her incredible fashion sense! Everyday with Honey B is an adventure and life with her is never dull day.

Honey B.

She loves lounging on firehose.

Honey B loves to wrap herself into blankets like a burrito.

Or make an elaborate nest with paper and other enrichment.

Her impeccable taste in fashion.

lol, up next, the CSNW beauty pageant, complete with fashion, intelligence, personality, and talent portions!

I can’t imagine what it’s like to walk into work and be faced with a chimp wearing a fanny pack….
Kelsi, is her fanny pack/bum bag just elastic, or does it have one of those big plastic buckles?

After a long day w/ many challenges I was thrilled to discover this wonderful post. Thank you, Kelsi, for making the end of my day so enjoyable! This portrait of Honey B in all her “HoneyB-ness” is so heartwarming I nearly swooned! And scrolling through the pics you provided is really a great set of examples of her. When I got to the final pic in her sarong-blanket, I laughed out loud! Who wouldn’t? What a precious being she is. (Of course they all are!) Thank you for capturing her essence so well in these images. What a gift!

Oh my! Honey B is a bigger character than I ever imagined. What a sassy gal. And I can feel your love and admiration for her through your words. But your selection of photos had me giggling, well, giggling until I got the fashion show portion of your post. I couldn’t help but crack up into full blown laughter that grew louder with each image. The fanny pac is funny enough, but the red headband worn high like an old man with his pants cinched up around the chest simply killed me, and then I scrolled to the last image of Honey B, standing bipedal, looking ravishing in a floral sarong — I howled!!! And what is she looking for on that shelf? A matching clutch? Color coordinated pair of socks? One can only imagine. Seriously, I can’t stop laughing over this girl.

Do you ever ask yourself how you got so lucky to have job where you get to enjoy these extraordinary friendships with these wonderful creative chimp (and cow) people?!

This is an amazing description of Honey B and is spot on for how she was as a youngster as well! But it sounds like she knows who she is even more clearly and confidently now. ??

Oh my! Is that a fanny pack? The sarong wins hands down. I’d love to greet Ms. B every day.
P.S. I love when she throws junk down the chute….

That last picture is priceless. It’s the funniest picture I’ve ever seen on this blog. Thanks for starting my day off with a huge laugh and smile. To Linda: the print sc doesn’t work so that last picture will be taken once again with my camera pointed on the computer screen. Thanks Kelsi for a great description of Honey B and for that fabulous photo

have you tried a right click on the picture, then choosing “copy picture”, and then opening a new screen to paste it there?

Great pics, she certainly is a character. I miss all of the chimps, as well as the other animals from WW, it warms my heart to see she has settled in and is having a wonderful new venture.

Thank you for sharing and for loving these chimps.

Honey B is my favorite! I love her sweet yet clever personality. I share pictures with my older sister who cant do Facebook and she has become just as much in love with Honey B. We can’t wait for blogs about her.

Hi Kelsi…You’re one of the luckiest & most privileged of persons to have a job like yours, & the ability to personally engage with these fascinating chimp people whenever they ask for your attention…. I sure wish Honey B could be upright OR upside down, & poke ME with her toe..g r I n s

Each of the adorable photos are a r I o t, but the final one of Miss Honey B standing upright with that pretty sarong so expertly wrapped around her, has to win the jackpot of being one of CSN’s funniest blog photos of all time…It almost looks like she just finished a spa treatment & was in need of a pair of ‘toed slipper-sox’ while she searched for a cool fruit ‘slurpy’…It’s always so much fun learning more & more about just how unique these fascinating these innocent souls are…

I’m still cracking up SO HARD at this image of Honey B, that I’m giving myself (loud-unlady like) hiccups…HaHa… What a great way to start my day…Belly laughing & smacking my knees… : )
