Snowy and Groomy Weather

January 2, 2020 by Chad de Bree

Our apologies again! We are still having trouble loading the video from the chimpanzee’s New Year celebration the other day due to an internet outage. (I’m currently posting this blog via my personal hotspot from my phone.) I personally blame the current snowy weather.

In the meantime, please enjoy these photos taken around the sanctuary.

Burrito had a playdate with both Jamie and Jody on this snowy day. He decided to spend most of his time inside grooming with Jody:

Of course, that was only when he wasn’t busy asking his caregivers for snowy treats:

Jamie, on the other hand, decided this snowy weather was the perfect weather to wrap herself up in blankets with her current favorite cowboy boot:

On the other side of the Chimp House, Honey B and Mave found today’s snowy conditions to also be perfect for grooming:

Thank you all for being so patient as we try to find a way to share the New Year Celebration video! We hope that tomorrow is the day the internet will be a top strength to share it with all of you.

LOVE the first photo, close-up of eyes. Afraid I still can’t distinguish one chimp from another. All the photos are great. Always so happy to see photos of our beloved chimpanzee people, and happy to see Burrito happy!

Really hard to say from that close, but I’d say it’s Honey B

“Good eyes,” Linda! That set of eyes belong to Honey B!

Maureen: I am so glad I’m not the only one who can’t recognize each of the chimps even after all these years I’ve been daily viewing these blogs. That’s why I’m so grateful to the writers for putting the names by each picture.

Beautiful pic’s, I love those close-ups, Jamie has the most intense eyes,
she looks so happy with her beloved boot.
Makes me so happy that Burrito is getting all the care he needs from his girls,
And the great CSN staff too šŸ™‚

    Aargh! We’re on tenterhooks! šŸ˜›
Good luck with the Internet….I’m with Kathleen, blame it on Pai!
Lol, you poor things, you’ll just get it uploaded, and it’ll be time for Burrito’s birthday bash!

No problem about the video. I’m just content seeing pictures of their sweet faces. After hearing the tragic news about the zoo in Germany, I need this right now. Thank you and Happy New Year!

So true and the millions of poor critters in the Australian fires. Makes me want to check on the condition of the Cle Elum sanctuary for some sweet pics and updates. Thanks for your efforts.

It’s a pity the facility is not in good shape… maybe there would be a way for them to help the chimps at WW.

Hi Chad, your headline alone makes up for the slow internet. It’s brilliant and gave me a good chuckle. Thanks for the photos, perfect substitute to hold us over. Look at Burrito with his leg up getting the full grooming treatment from dear Jody, so pleased to see him looking better. Jamie must love winter, winter is boot season.

Hi Chad, yes it is so good to see these wonderful pictures of the Chimps. I love their expressions. So glad to see Burrito coming along so well. We will look forward to seeing the video. Thank you and have a good evening!

Please don’t apologize for the delay in the ability to post the video. <3 Knowing the chimpanzee family had a wonderful celebration is enough… and I knew their caregivers would make sure they did. šŸ™‚
