First and foremost, I want to apologize for not putting together a real blog post.
Today was exciting and productive, but the afternoon disappeared and I soon realized that the video montage I made for you all would not finish uploading until late in the evening. My attempts to finish it were met with further technical difficulties, so I am regretfully abandoning my efforts.
Instead, please enjoy these images of the great snowfall that we experienced this week. The prepared video, which showcases how Burrito and the other chimps are remaining busy during the onset of winter, will be uploaded by me on Sunday.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

What stunning views!!! Thank you — all of you — for what you do. Have a good night and weekend.
Chris says
Thank goodness. I was worried there was more drama when there was no post earlier. Guess I’m hooked on the daily word?
Linda C says
Lol, well, you’re not alone, because at least several of us react the same way!
Anthony says
I am fully aware that failing to post an update would result in all of you mobilizing with torches and pitchforks, seeking me out in my personal residence, and demanding information regarding the chimps. đ
In all sincerity, though, I admire the passion and attention of our blog followers and supporters, and I enjoy keeping you all in the loop!
Sherry says
At midnight here in St. Louis, I said to my husband, âthere wasnât a post today about the chimpanzees, I hope nothings wrong.â He a greed with me. Anyway, these pictures are an awesome substitute. I wouldnât mind having a painting of that bottom one in my house. You have such beautiful and peaceful views.
Anthony says
I like to think that the chimpanzees probably appreciate the local scenery and pastoral surroundings as much as we do.
Elaine Reininger says
Oh Anthony, no need to apologize. I don’t know how you busy people find the time to take pictures and create these wonderful posts on a daily basis. I was afraid, like the others, that something bad had happened again and that that was the reason for no post. You caretakers have us spoiled however and whenever there is silence we think the worst.
Anthony says
The chaotic times often make for the most challenging blogs, but sometimes it truly just comes down to having to take out the trash and mop the floors first! Of course, it’s also difficult to write a blog when you hear restless chimps sputtering and clapping at you from down the hallway. đ
Sherry P says
Those are truly awe-inspiring images, Anthony. You have a terrific eye for the perfect view.
Like others, I’m hooked on the daily blog-post .. & looking forward to the video on Sunday!
Anthony says
Thanks, Sherry!
Kathleen says
Spectacular photos and they will hold me over until I see your much anticipated video. Cle Elum, and WA state in general, is simply soooo beautiful!
With all you have on your schedule every single day, you’d think the least we could is provide you with lightening fast technology so you can prepare your video posts. LOL. I’ll say it again, thank Uncle Sam for rescinding the Obama-era open-internet protections and instead cursing us with the Net Neutrality repeal, especially in rural areas. : (
Anthony says
This area really is beautiful; alpine highlands, desert canyons, and dense evergreen forests are all right in our backyard. This state, and the PNW in general, is a huge mosaic of landscapes.
I’ll withhold my commentary on rural internet services!
Kathy Benson says
Beautiful pictures
Anthony says
Thanks, Kathy!
Marcie Milam says
Absolutely beautiful pics, thank you for them and the positive update. I smiled as I looked at the railroad tracks and remembered Honey B and Mavâs fascination watching a train roll by when they first arrived. Itâs the simple things that we see again through their eyes and cherish with them. Youâre so lucky to be able to see those first hand.
Anthony says
They still stop to watch the train… and the delivery trucks as they bring packages up the driveway. If they knew that the boxes usually contain donated enrichment items, they would probably be even more excited!
