That time again…

April 19, 2019 by Anna

The season of grass snacking has begun! Yesterday afternoon, Elizabeth and I caught Negra sitting on the Young’s Hill picking handful after handful. It’s a little early for the full bounty of wild plants to appear, so we still get to look forward to the time when we find her further up the hill, picking mouthfuls of prickly lettuce. This morning the Queen wandered outside, just so she could take in the view from her usual outdoor platform. We can’t get enough!

Oh, it’s so good to see Neggie out and about, and even climbing a tiny bit!
Does she ever use “her” cabin?

YES! I have been waiting for this moment. For me, it isn’t officially spring until Negra hits the hill for greens. She looks so happy in that top photo, all smiles. Looking forward to seeing her at the top of the property soon. Sending XOXOXO Negra’s way!

I second everything you say. I love that smile on Negra’s face in that top photograph. Spring has finally arrived for all of the chimpanzees in Cle Elum.
