Eagle eyes

November 28, 2018 by Anna

It always amazes us just how observant Jamie really is. Nothing gets by her, especially when it’s related to one of her favorite things on the planet, new boots! This morning I opened the door to Young’s Hill and Jamie took off for her first perimeter fence patrol of the day. She made it halfway up the hill before she stopped:

Then she came barreling back down (hair standing on end). She could tell from about a 100 yards away that J.B., who was innocently walking up from the parking lot, was wearing a new pair of boots.

Modeling ensued:

This is one of many reasons why I love Jamie so much,
I get excited about new boots too!

Lol, as soon as I saw the title of the post and the top picture, I just *knew* what this was about! I would love to model boots for Jamie! Glad you guys all have the patience to take the time and make her happy with an inspection!

I was guessing Jamie could smell leather from a mile away but then I saw that J.B.’s boots weren’t made of leather. Hysterically unbelievable!

Jamie never ceases to amaze me. She really is brilliant. If she could detect a fire 12 miles away and know enough to alert you caretakers, why wouldn’t she observe a new pair of boots.

What amazing eyesight! Because I am fairly new to the blog I do not have all the information most of you have on Jamie and her family, but I wonder what I fascination is with the oots. Was someone wearing boots kind to her? Was a caretaker that she liked once
    wearing boots?
All those questions that you all have probably answered many times before.
I am so in love with these wonderful “people”.

Hi Suzanne, welcome to the blog! We don’t really know why Jamie likes boots so much, but she is not the only chimpanzee that we’ve met who shows an interest in footwear. It’s a really interesting question that unfortunately we can never answer for sure.

How I wish Jamie was president.
