Dancing for Negra

October 16, 2018 by Anna

There is one sure way to entertain Negra, show her your best dance moves! No matter how sleepy she might be feeling, she usually has it in her to give you some approving head nods for your effort.

Why is dear Negra always so sleepy? Is it just her age or something else.

She is the oldest in the group and has always been less active than the others. While we haven’t diagnosed her with anything specific, we do think that she’s actually become more active and adventurous in the past few years 🙂

Is the hand tap to encourage you to keep going? I still think she’d love some songs with her name in them! Joe Arroyo’s “No le pegue a la negra” and Celia Cruz’s “La negra tiene tumbao”……maybe they’ll get her to move a tiny bit.

Watching this video, I couldn’t help but to compare Negra’s facial expressions and hand gestures to
a choregrapher observing the New York City Ballet go through their rehearsals. She is just adorable!

She’s her “private dancer who does whatever Negra wants her to do”. ?

It looks as if Negra is judging the dance performance, a head nod = a perfect 10 but the hand gesture is more of 7 or 8! So funny how she enjoys a good silly dance. Be sure to tell Negra I love her.

As if the nod wasn’t precious enough, the hand tapping was over the top adorable.
