Burrito’s Close-up

September 16, 2018 by Kelsi

Being the only male can be hard…

But who could resist this handsome fellow!

Here are a few extra photos…

Missy eating apples on the Hill this morning:

Missy foraging for corn at lunch:

Jody’s loot today:

Negra was really excited about corn:

Annie did pretty well during the lunch forage:

Foxie:

And then there is Jamie (she has been enjoying her new firehose swing):

He can look so sad in those moments when the twinkle´s gone out of his eyes……for Neggie´s next birthday, since she likes music and dancing, maybe you could play some songs for her with her name in them ….like Joe Arroyo´s ¨¨No le pegue a la negra¨ or Celia Cruz´s ¨La negra tiene tumbao¨ (synchronized salsa dancing by caregivers optional! :))

It should be against the law to be as charming as Burrito. Great photos of the lunch forage and Jamie grooving on the new blue firehouse, thanks a million for each image.

These are beautiful photographs. I love how each of the chimpanzee’s eyes seem to be accentuated in
    the light.

I have to admit that sometimes I wonder if Burrito feels lonesome without another chimp-man around for companionship. Sure he has Foxie for grooming sessions which can turn into play sessions, but sometimes I wonder if he feels left out by the chimp-women. Perhaps he can find a guy friend if/when another chimpanzee moves into the sanctuary…

I’ve often wondered, since Annie and Missy have each other, and Foxie and Jamie are close, if Negra and Burrito (and maybe Jody? But she takes care of everyone) miss having a “BFF”, whether male or female. Still……imagine what the noise is gonna be like in the mornings when there are TWO of them displaying!

What a lovely group of individuals. How fortunate they are to be with you all. Here’s to all of our primate friends finding sanctuary one day soon. Can’t stop thinking about Burritos’ eyes. I think some deeper thoughts might go on in there sometimes.
