Slooow day

July 3, 2018 by Anna

Something is in the air that’s making us all sleepy and lazy today.

Jamie took it easy on a slow walk this morning before she curled up in a nest to examine a book about mammals:

We set out a lunch forage today, but almost everyone had other plans indoors. Negra was the first (and only chimp) for a few moments on Young’s Hill. She had a big head start, so she collected at least five pieces of corn before anyone joined her.

Missy (right) watched the other chimps forage from the raceway by the greenhouse before she finally joined in. She met up with Annie (left) and they ate their lunch together in the fire hose hammock:

Here’s to leisurely Tuesdays!

Tobin your reply touched me deeply. Thank you for Gandhi’s list of Seven Deadly Sins in the Modern World. Your mention of personhood and dignity really got to me, well said!

I wonder if little Foxie remembers that meeting, and finding out that Diana was fun to play with ?
If only she knew what a wonderful new friend she was making, and how much bigger her life was about to get.
Thank you so much for all your wonderful work.

She has that hairless patch from over-grooming herself. It looks like she was working on it recently, so it stands out more right now.
