Paula Wade’s tribute

June 19, 2009 by Diana

Paula Wade of Colorado, a supporter of CSNW and a friend to the Cle Elum Seven, died on June 10th. Paula began following the CSNW blog early on and made comments on some of the posts. She sent in a photo of herself as a child that is now included in the chimps’ photo album. In October, she gathered photos of the chimpanzees from the blog and put them into a video slide show. I had always intended on sharing this video with everyone.

Although I regret that I am only sharing it now that Paula is gone, I am so glad that she created this and was able to connect with the Cle Elum Seven, even at a distance, before she passed away. This was a tribute to the Cle Elum Seven by Paula, and now I see it as a tribute to Paula. We wish all of Paula’s friends and family the best during their time of grieving.

Paula was so sweet to put this slide show together! These are such fun pictures, and I especially love the way she put the names on each photo. My heartfelt condolences go out to Paula’s friends and family. We will all miss her very much here on the blog. Thank you for sharing this, Diana!

    Diana,
Thanks so much for posting Paula’s video. Paula was a sincere and wonderful lady who loved chimpanzees. I had the good fortune of being able to “chat” with her over the past year and I considered her a good friend. This video truly shows the passion she had for these wonderful creatures. I miss her greatly.

    Thanks again…..Cle Elum Sanctuary rocks!

Thank-you CSNW for posting Paula’s video and doing this tribute. I too had the great fortune of meeting Paula through a shared passion, chimpanzee rescue. Paula was one of the most genuine people I’ve met and she so loved the chimps of Chimp Eden and CSNW. We miss her very much.

Thanks again CSNW – you guys are the best! Give my Roxie a pant-hoot and a brand new sexy Troll Doll. Love that girl, love them all.

It is always sad when we loose a friends of chimpanzees,,,,a friends of all non-human animals. Whenever they pass it is always too early. Our thoughts and good wishes are will all Paula’s loved ones.

Thank you, Diana. Paula was a good friend and a champion of chimps. I saw this slideshow before she sent it and it brought tears to my eyes as it did just now. Paula was a sweet, caring woman who loved chimps and all other animals. I know she is at Rainbow Bridge in heaven with all the animals she loved and is healthy again. I miss her but I know she is smiling and happy for eternity and I hope to see her again one day.

    Hi everyone,

I am also one of the lucky ones that were able to chat with Paula in another chimp chat group and I can thank her for my finding CSNW. (I was wanting to find something in the Pacific Northwest and here came CSNW, right at a perfect time. I found CSNW only 4 days after “our kids” arrived).

Thanks for sharing this Diana. And I thought I was going to make it thru the whole weekend without crying. My prayers are with her friends & family.

A beautiful tribute to Paula. I also was priviledged to “chat” with Paula. She was so informative and passionate in her love of chimps. I’m sure she would want that to live on in all of us.

I found this a loving tribute not only from Paula to the chimps she loved but to Paula and her gift of sharing her love.
