Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest could not function without volunteer support. Chimp house volunteers wash produce, prepare meals, do laundry, tend to the garden, clean enclosures…they are part of every aspect of the sanctuary. Yesterday we had a small party to honor the folks that keep this place running. Of course, the humans can’t have a party on their own, so the chimps got to enjoy a picnic dinner, with lots of fresh greens, homemade (and healthy!) potato and pasta salads, and veggie burgers.
To all the volunteers that couldn’t make it, thank you for giving up so much of your time to help the Cle Elum Seven.

It looks like you all hasd a great time if the look on the chimp faces are anything to go by (and I believe they are!). We are so sorry we could not be there. It would have been lovely to spend time with the chimpanzees along with other volunteers. CSNW people are the BEST there are! Thanks for the photos JB.

Kudos to all the volunteers for giving their time and hearts to the Cle Elum 7. I wish I lived close enough to volunteer myself. They do love a party!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I know I am one of the lucky ones to volunteer but those of you on the blog are also loved and appreciated. I enjoy reading the blog and meeting others in a different part of the country. We couldn’t do it without your support.
JB it was a wonderful party and the 7 guests of honor were a delight to hear and watch. I hear you made the Hummus. I’d love the recipe. It was delicious!!!
