Burrito has the sweetest face I have ever seen on any chimpanzee or human.

Elizabeth, Thank you for these lovely photos. How sweet of Annie & Missy to give Jody the spa treatment. What a contented group of chimps 🙂

Buritto, seems to get cuter by the day. I ‘ve been viewing videos and pics of when they arrived to now, Wow, oh holy wow, they all looked so unhealthy, sad, and in physical pain due to thier jailers cells and neglect,, in the lab. It was obvious they had not seen any natural sun light .. within a short time they ALL flousished and basked in the tender, gentle, loving care they receive from all at CSNW. The changes are drastic and dramatic, thier fur shines now, they shine, they live, they love, they even can laugh now adn they have reasons to laugh, Life for the Cle Elum Seven is splend..
I wonder if Buritto’s personality is what it is, due to being the only male. Although, he knows his place, (or I’m sure Jamie will enlighten him.) he appears to respect them and their boundries. He also does seek much re assurance, and approval from them. I absolutely adore Buritto, when he hangs upside down, while interacting with Jackie . He is rather loveable, charming, and so, so, cute..

This might be a silly question, but can you elaborate on what’s involved in caring for the chimps? Do they have baths, get their nails clipped etc.? Thanks!

Not a silly question at all, Tammy. The chimpanzees tend to their own hygiene. Chimps avoid water as much as possible since they aren’t able to swim, so you generally won’t catch a chimpanzee bathing. They do spend a lot of time grooming themselves and each other, though. As for their nails, they typically file down naturally.
