If I am honest the chimps were off doing chimp things today, leaving me empty handed for a blog! However, as I was pondering about what to write this blog about, I kept thinking about my favorite photos of the chimps. I thought I might share some of my favorites! Here is the thing though, I got really caught up looking at photos of Jamie and couldn’t pick one. So this actually just became a photo blog of Jamie. Jamie is such a complex individual. She is rigid and domineering at times, but can also be gentle and silly. It is fascinating to see how other caregivers are able to capture who Jamie is through their lens. These photos only scratch the surface of who Jamie is, but I hope you enjoy!

Thank you, Kelsi, for your perfect choice of photographs. In the years since more people have come to reside at the Jamie’s Sanctuary, I don’t always get to see the Boss as much. Thus, this collection of portraits provide a visual treat. As always, I am drawn to Jamie’s piercing, beautiful eyes. They seem to intimate that she has a mind that never stops thinking…which, given her position as CEO of the CSNW, is a good managerial skill which she possesses.:slight_smile:

I so agree with you, Tobin and LindaC……those eyes are the first indication about her amazing intelligence. She has always looked to me as though she’s smiling, making you wonder what she’ll be up to next! Wonderful photos of our boss lady……especially as she often doesn’t allow cameras around.

Ohhh, Jamie. Beautiful magnificent Jamie. I am often amazed and intrigued by the portraits of her, specifically because, as you stated, different caregivers can capture a unique glint in her eyes or expression on her face. Jamie is a Kaleidoscope.
Chadd’s photo of Jamie looking up into the sky is a favorite of mine too. It not only shows a wondering side of Jamie, the image also expresses what sanctuary is. Jenna’s photo seems to show a cheeky “fake Neggie” side but Jamie has such a warm expression I am guessing she has a special fondness for Jenna. J.B. has captured photos of Jamie looking so natural it’s as if J.B.’s presence is not just expected but appreciated. She’s looks so comfortable in her skin and environment just like we all are with family or a very dear old friend. The Troll scarf image is beyond words. As is the image below it, but for different reasons. And Katelyn‘s photo of Jamie in her nest is also a favorite of mine. Doesn’t it just sum Jamie up? Bliss!
With all of your photos, Kelsi, there is something especially unique that occurs when you photograph Jamie. You always manage to capture this sweet, innocent, intelligent, soft, and dare I say cute side of Jamie! Your second, third, fourth, and fifth photos prove this. But photo number six has always been an all-time favorite of mine. I had no idea you took that photo. I had assumed it was taken by Diana. That’s Jamie. She is everything I noted above but to me, Jamie eyes are full of great intelligence, so much so it can take my breath away! Look at her, look at her eyes and tell me she isn’t an equal to any human.
Serious Jamie, silly Jamie, crafty Jamie… I love all of Jamie’s different facets. Just looking into her eyes, you can see the wheels turning in her head. Such a depth of intelligence.

What a wonderful selection of photos of Jamie!!! I especially love the one where she is lying in her nest with the magazine and holding her feet. Some of the photos I feel I can see inside her soul a little bit. What beautiful creatures chimps are. Thank you so much for the pictures.
