New Tower on the Bray

May 18, 2026 by J.B. 12 Comments

In what’s become an annual tradition, CSNW Founder, Keith, brought a crew of friends out to build a new structure for the chimps. In just two days, the team was able to construct a new tower at the bottom of the Bray—close enough to the building for those chimps who don’t always like venturing farm from home, but high enough on the hill to get a great view of the valley. It was a fun weekend, and the chimps are already enjoying their new tower.

Many thanks to Keith and his crew and to all of our volunteers for enriching the chimps’ lives!

Thanks as al2ays to Keith & Co! The chimps must be excited to see your truck pull in, bc it always means good things for them!
Someone on YT used the word “frolic” , and it’s most appropriate! A gorgeous day for a game of “got your toes!”, said Rayne and Terry.
George’s display is cute; he looks like he’s ready to do a Naruto run.
I’m glad Mave realized that there were more snacks on the new one; I hope she made it over before they were all gone. Willy looks as though he still wishes for another bridge, bc while the grass isn’t lava, he still doesn’t trust it.
So, who “christened” it? Mave or Willy B?

Thanks for the long video showing everybody exploring the new spiral staircase tower! I hope Dora and Honey B venture out soon to see the structure. No surprise seeing Rayne on the very top! She’s fearless! Pleased to see Willy B climbing his way up the new structure as well. What fun!!

Massively big thank you to Keith and all the wonderful volunteers who designed and built the new structure. It really is cool and the location seems perfect. Personally, I wouldn’t mind venturing up to the top and having a picnic lunch.

What fun! That’s going to get a lot of visits. I’m so glad that Keith’s vision for the chimps all happened and that he’s still so involved.
I couldn’t work out who got to the top, but standing tall on the top, gazing at the wonderful view must have felt as free as they could possibly be.

Whoa! A spiral tower! How cool is that?
    THANKS KEITH!!!

I couldn’t help but think how great that would be on Young’s Hill for the OG. Looks fairly easy to climb.
It was soooo wonderful seeing everyone come out for the new adventure. You’ve gone and done it again! You’ve made my heart swell.

Looks like the new structure is a hit! I loved seeing George’s little bipedal run, too!

Is Dora still afraid to venture out onto the Bray? Does Honey B still limit her visits to the Bray and prefer the safety of the chute?

Dora still doesn’t go outside. Honey B regularly goes out to the structures at the base of the Bray—I don’t think I’ve seen her go further than halfway up.

Beautiful and wonderous watching each one of the Chimps explore their new tower. George runs fast! He is so cute and sweet and I love how Cy is still always so close by.

What I saw was George the first out to explore the new tower with his mentor, Cy, right behind. I’d say the new tower is a great success! Question: how do you get the goodies for chimps to find on the high levels of the towers? Do you climb up like the chimps?

Yes, that staff climb them, too! We try to build things so that they are accesible to geriatric chimps and the humans that care for them.
