Spring is definitely in the air in Cle Elum, so much so that I can even hear the frogs making a ruckus in the pond by the cattle pasture! Let’s bid adieu to winter with a look back at some of the volunteers and interns who helped make the colder months more comfortable for the chimpanzees and our grateful staff. We included these photos in our weekly “Thank You” email updates to our volunteers throughout the winter and I thought it would be nice to share them as a collection.

What an insight watching these dedicated and caring volunteers. Despite.the weather there they are in action and keeping everything ticking over -and with a family of somewhat boisterous and unpredictable chimps no small task. I send you a huge THANKYOU!!:sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart:?
Thank you for volunteering. I’m sure it is a great help to the staff in the care of the chimps and a very rewarding experience for you.
THERE’S Nancy, Queen of the party recipes! Debbie, I hear baby oil makes their hair look like new! (not trolls, tho, I don’t think). Parker, watch your step!
The photo with Brandon makes you think, “do you need blankets?–oh, no, you’re good.” But then the photo with Debbie shows the same spot from another angle, probably in the afternoon. Were they taken the same day?
Thank you to all of you, the formerly unsung heroes! I wish I lived close enough!
To all the volunteers, thank you for your work and thoughtfulness.
It’s nice to see the photos of your dedicated volunteers, thanks for introducing everyone, Anna. I recognize Elizabeth from when she was a caregiver. It’s great she’s still volunteering. Lucky Burrito! It speaks volumes about the sanctuary when so many past employees come back to help. Same goes for all the new workers. Makes me wonder who might end up being a caregiver one day. I think Honey B is pondering the same question!
Thank you, volunteers for your dedication and enthusiasm! :rose:
To all the wonderful volunteers, thank you for your tireless work and efforts on behalf of the chimps!! You are all terrific!
