Just Five More Minutes

March 28, 2026 by Dusty Cavaliere

Do you ever have one of those mornings where you’re just not ready to get out of bed? All you want to do is pull the covers over your head and hide from the world.

Just five more minutes . . . pleeeeeease!

But you get a strange feeling that someone is staring at you.

Maybe your dog or cat or child or maybe an annoying caregiver?

You decide to take a quick peek to see who’s there.

Oh, it’s you.

“Yes, it’s us,” said the Squishmallows, “we’re hungry.”

It’s too early for breakfast, go away.

You yawn,

a big yawn,

snuggle up,

and go back to sleep.

“Fine, we’ll help ourselves.”

ILY Negra! Wishing her the best, I feel so lucky to have volunteered and seen her during cleaning!

Does Negra sleep a lot more than the other chimps and has that always been the case?

Does Neggie sleep a lot more than the other chimps and if so, has that always been the case?

Yes! Neggie’s always been a lady who values her sleep, ever since she first arrived.

Negra, I too am a fan of, “just five more minutes please.” Put the covers over your head and stay in bed as long as you’d like, dear lady. Age has its privileges.

Sweet dreams, Queen Neggie. The only Queen we want.

    Dearest HRH,
No words can describe your perfection.
We do love you more than words can wield the matter.

Oh Dusty! Sigh. What a precious post. That y-a-w-n!! I don’t blame dear Negra for loving her nest.

Stay snuggled dear girl. Maybe you’ll be served breakfast in bed.
