George Picnics with his New Family

March 2, 2026 by J.B.

Outdoor forages are a great source of enrichment in the warmer months. George got to search for plenty of treats last summer when he was on his own, but today marked the first time that he got to have lunch outside with his new family since they were fully integrated. He was so excited!

Here are a few bonus photos of Foxie taking her dolls along for the ride during her group’s lunch forage:

Terry’s chest beat told me maybe the girls would be outside with Burrito as well! Strawberry Shortcake on deck, and Orange Blossom never gets a day off!
I noticed that Cy is still sticking close by him.
You’re so lucky to have such wonderful weather in March! we are still finishing up with digging out and finding places to put the snow, all 3 feet!

Heart warming and huge congratulations to you all for giving George the confidence to explore his boundaries and just be one of the gang sharing time and food with his buddies.
That Pacific North West landscape made a very fitting backdrop. Thankyou!

Great Video! I love seeing Terry display and really enjoy it when you include the chimps’ vocalizations.

What a beautiful day! Perfect for George’s first forage on the Bray with all his friends. (I didn’t see Dora so I’m guessing she’s pulling a Mora B visit?) Appears Cy is still keeping a tight eye on George. Those two are pretty cute together. And Terry needs no introduction, not when he’s pounding his chest. From your selected photos, it doesn’t appear as if Foxy was impressed with his performance! 🙂

So, after the forage, what was the verdict? Is George officially a Bray Boy?!

George must think he’s landed in chimp heaven! Fresh air, food and friends….who could want anything more? Does anyone try to take his food, or is he able to look after himself? So glad that Cy is continuing his bodyguard duties!

Thankfully, George hasn’t had any issues with competition for food with the others.

George’s squeaky food grunts of happiness. Cy, standing by for support. And Terry’s drive-by chest beat. It’s just another happy day in the neighborhood of CSNW.
