Not Your Typical February

February 4, 2026 by Kelsi

I can’t believe the weather we’re having. Now, I am not a cold-weather person; my ideal weather is a dry 80-degree day, so you won’t hear any complaints from me. But it’s 45-degrees with no snow on the ground in February? It’s just a little baffling!

I am not sure what this means for our summer, however, it has been wonderful for the chimps to be able to get outside.

We have the same ideal weather day, Kelsi!
For once, I will say I’ll trade you guys! We got a foot of snow a week or so ago, and it refuses to melt because our temperatures have been at 30 and below.
Im also happy they got out!
I will cross my fingers that you guys see enough to keep the wildfires at Bay next summer

i’m right there with you,Kelsi, as a warm weather worshiper. Living in the PacificNW, I’m tapping my toes with the chimps when i see a sunny day in the 50s. in Feb.

I know you need the moisture the snow brings but it sure looks like great weather for exploring outside! Or, a great day to quietly enjoy the scenery like Lucky. Enjoy the warmth. It’s still early February so there’s lots of time for snow, ice, and single digit temperatures!
