When the fog lifts…

January 15, 2026 by Anna

The sun finally burned off our stubborn fog layer today and the chimps have been taking full advantage of this excellent January weather. Humans and chimps alike have been gratefully soaking in some Vitamin D!

    Yay for sun!
Is it just the way the wind is blowing her hair, or has Annie been overgroomed?
Do you find that they overgroom in winter?

A sunny aspect of your Pacific North West weather. Gorgeous photos of the chimps soaking up the warm sunshine and I loved those of Foxie with her beloved “babies, so touching. Yes, bring on that Vitamin D for everyone. Just wondered is Vitamin D measured when the chimps have their routine blood tests?

Sweet pictures of all of them. George has such cute and endearing expressions. They are enjoying the sunshine, their forever home and each other.

Ahhhh, that uplifting feeling you get from being outside on a sunny day! Thank you, Anna, for all these photos. Brightened my day. I could almost feel the sunshine through my screen.

The picture of Cy standing alone looks (to me) like an old man hunched over with a heavy rain coat or over coat on.
I love the picture of Foxie with her dolls, so sweet?

I myself stood with my back to a sunny window this morning. Upper south Florida had a cold snap and that warm sun felt soooo good! I’m so glad the chimps got some too? That should lower their cholesterol. (Did you know the sun converts cholesterol to vitamin D?)

I have a special request for CSNW. Emojis that don’t show up as question marks!
