Today is for J.B. and Diana!

November 2, 2025 by Katelyn

Our heartfelt thanks to Evette Ludman and Dennis Birch for sponsoring this special day of sanctuary in honor of J.B. Mulcahy and Diana Goodrich, our sanctuary Co-Directors!

After attending HOOT! last month Evette and Dennis were so moved in learning more of the work and dedication required in caring for the chimpanzees and they wish to share this lovely message:

“We would like to sponsor a day in honor of J.B. and Diana who work so very hard every day to care for the animals and to inform your followers on every development. With great admiration and continued inspiration, Evette and Dennis”.

Evette and Dennis, we truly appreciate your gracious words and all you help make possible in the chimpanzees’ and cows’ lives. Thank you so much for honoring Diana and J.B. and their extraordinary dedication to the sanctuary and all the beautiful residents who call it home!

What a lovely, fitting dedication. No one is more deserving.
And the photos today are wonderful, and I was happy to see
    Jody there, as well.

I concur. I think that people like Queen Negra, Betsy, and George also hold a favorable regard of Diana and J.B.

I am inclined to think that Jamie will be inclined to renew the contracts which she has for Diana and J.B. as her employees.

Here, here! A job that’s 24/7, 365. And the one time they tried to take a vacation, everything froze!
Thanks for all you do to share the chimps with us, every day. And for all you do for them. You seem to have garnered Jamie’s respect, and we all know that doesn’t come easily!

Another “Best Blog Ever” contender! A thoughtful, generous, and so warranted tribute. Gorgeous photos, faces both familiar, new and never to be forgotten… and so nice to also meet the bashful (and adorable) and very lucky canine crew. As always, thanks for letting us in to what is definitely a magical place.

Thank you Diana and J.B. for all you do to enrich the lives of all your chimp, bovine, canine, feline . . . friends. Their world, and our world, is better because of you. (A long time since I’ve seen you since Tribe of Heart Days!)
    BEAUTIFUL photographs!

Here, here! To our tireless co-executive directors who pour themselves into their work day in and day out – you make our Board’s job easy. Now go take some time for yourselves!

To you I also ask: “Where??”
“Hear, hear” is what they say if they agree with what is said….
It is a very ( posh ) Brittish thing to say.

Thank you Yvette and Dennis for honoring two people who give heart and soul, tears and laughter to their life’s work at CSNW. I’m glad you enjoyed HOOT. Follow along with the rest of us blog junkies and check out the news every day. We could all use a little more joy in our lives. Thank you, Katelyn, for outstanding photos of the variety of species that call CSNW HOME.

Such a thoughtful and beautiful tribute to two special humans who exjoy hanging out with all the critters and their admirers. We are so fortunate to have people like you in this world.

Oh Yvette and Dennis, what a brilliant and long overdue tribute! Here, here. Diana and J.B. are one of a kind. Not only do they give their lives to the sanctuary, they still find time to adopt and care for three scrumptious dogs who have clearly learned nesting techniques from the chimps. We all believe Jane Goodall and her legacy of compassion will continue to carry on, and we have a front row seat to that legacy in Diana and J.B. Thank you both for being you!
