Scenes from George and Rayne’s Day on the Bray

November 3, 2025 by J.B.

George recently spent a full day with Rayne. Rayne is a wise, confident, and well-respected chimpanzee who gives George a lot of grace but isn’t afraid to hold him accountable when he gets out of line. George and Rayne have had many short meetings before, and while a few of those meetings began with brief conflicts, they always ended on a high note. This longer meeting was no exception. After a bit of arguing through the mesh, the pair got together and settled down for a day full of socializing, eating meals together, and running throughout the 2-acre habitat (both with each other and with the chimps next door!). Learning the rules can be tough for someone without much social experience, but George couldn’t ask for a better teacher.

George is such a sweet guy. I fell in love with him immediately and can’t deny that he’s become my favorite, after all these years of resisting such a categorization.

I love that he didn’t mind when she got some of his chow!

I almost thought we were going to have the Missy vs George footrace!

It is so much fun to see this happy go lucky boy in his green waistband galloping along the fence. I think he really impressed the neighbors. i’m glad his time with Rayne went well.

George looks incredibly dashing in his green waist band! I love how confiden’t he’s gotten outdoors and I’m glad he’s finally figuring out how to get along with the girls as well!
Also, I just adore seeing Jamie and Missy running alongside George. I imagine their new neighbor is pretty enriching for them, too.

Okay, I have to admit that I believe George has a thing for the ladies. Just look at him, all dressed up for the special occasion, wearing his green stretch band and looking so irresistibly adorable! Funny how George didn’t choose to dress up for the big guys. Just saying…

What fun to be with you on this peaceful stroll. George looks so happy. And Jammie had her old zip back as she ran down the hill. George and his youthful energy are good for everyone.

I love George’s fashion statement. He is becoming the character. It is so wonderful to see him and the other chimps run free and enjoy themselves outdoors!!!!!

What a gentleman our George, helping Rayne up the structure.
I agree with Kathleen: just put his waisteband on for his date with one of the Ladies….
And I also thought we might get a race between Missy and George.
    Maybe next time.

Good to see George knows that he has to dress well for a date with the ladies. So nice to see the greeting and other special bonding moments. Also nice to see Jamie so active instead of her usual slow walk around, and Missy giving George some competition.
JB, I don’t see any snake fencing up …..I know it’s going into your winter but why would you take it down? .

The snake fence is installed along the outer permitere fencing, not along the fences that divide the enclosures internally.
