Yesterday, we had a special lunch forage for the 4th of July! Volunteer caregiver Patti and caregiver Ellen came together to make the chimps a beautiful platter of BBQ jackfruit sliders with homemade BBQ sauce, sweet potato fries, corn, berry banana skewers (strawberry, banana, blueberry, cherry), and to drink: agua de melon (with cantaloupe).
The chimps sure did make them look tasty! Hope you all had a safe 4th!
Let me tell you that you don’t have to be a chimp to enjoy delicious jack fruit in place of meat. Trader Joe’s sells it in a.can. Thank you Pattj and Ellen for a wonderful July4th menu. Listen to those hoots. .
Wow. The creativity. Red white and blue kabobs. Love it. Everyone seems so chill. Lovely. Just lovely.
Beautiful day indeed. Artfully prepared food presentation, happy happy chimps, love all around. Bravo!
ooh, everything looked really good and I could tell everything was quite popular with the chimps. I enjoyed watching Neggie eat.
I must say I have never tasted Jack Fruit but if Gaynell likes it I will get right over to Trader Jo’s and pick up a can.
Believe it or not, I was thinking about jackfruit the other day and wondering why I hadn’t seen it on any of the party menus. I remembered purchasing jackfruit at the local Safeway to deliver to the chimps on my first visit to the sanctuary. I am pleased to see it is still a favorite of the chimps, and now it looks like a new favorite for George!
The feast for this year’s 4th of July might be one of the most fabulous ever. Looks like Martha Stewart designed the menu. Everyone enjoyed your efforts. Thank you for always making every holiday uniquely special and meaningful.
Wow! CSNW parties never disappoint! Looks like the chimps were excited, too! I know George must be loving all of these fun parties!
What a beautiful and tasty luncheon you gave them!! You all are the best!
Your, menu, choices are, always, so, appetizing and colorful! And, love seeing and hearing the chimps eat!
Sliders! Patty, ou always knock it out of the park!
George was wary of the jackfruit, but he definitely got into the Hawaiian roll!
