Signs of Summer

June 8, 2025 by J.B.

Summer has come early this year so we’ve been busy making sure everyone stays safe and comfortable. That means moving the cows to pastures with plenty of wooded areas for shade and ensuring our wildfire sprinkler system is ready for fire season. The chimps have gone into summer mode as well, taking full advantage of the outdoor habitats in the early mornings and finding shade or a quiet spot indoors to ride out the afternoon heat.

Plant succulents! They hold water. And some have fabulous blooms.

Wow, Missy and Burrito are really enjoying the outdoors together. That was really sweet to see.

But Negra was the BESTEST. That girl knows how to chill!!

It appears the three gals know their way to their summer pasture. Everything looks so lush and green I can’t imagine it will turn to gold tones in a few months. (Although I am very grateful that you have all fire protections in place, may you never have the need for your wildfire sprinkler system. Please, never!) Burrito will not let rising temps slow him down. And Negra, dearest Negra will not let the heat deter her from napping in her blanketed nest. She’s so cozy. And dozy.

Munch away, ladies of the mountain! Clear the hills of that lush grass before it can dry out!

96 already! We haven’t broken 80 here on the coast yet, afaik.

I like that they’re watching videos of George. I wonder if they realize that he’s a stranger, but he’s on familiar territory?
How did George react to the party ruckus yesterday at lunch? It was a loud party!

Oh, my word you’re certainly having some very hot weather over in Pacific North West and the residents sure know how to make the most of it. Love seeing how the bovines and chimpsnzees know how to adapt and enjoy the beautiful landscape.Today in Sydney, Australia, the temperature was 13c and it’s a very cold Winter’s day. Watching this beautifuI video warmed my heart.
