Beautiful Morning

April 9, 2025 by Kelsi

As I went to let Jamie’s group outside this morning, I noticed Negra was waiting by the door in anticipation of being the first one out. I always know its going to be a good day if Negra wants to be the first chimp out onto Young’s Hill. It’s cheesy, but the song, A Beautiful Morning by The Rascals, popped into my head. It seemed pretty fitting for such a lovely morning to be watching all the chimps go out and enjoy this beautiful spring morning. On the other side of the building, Honey B and Dora were up to their normal antics of laughing, playing, and relishing in each others company! Click here for the video.

I totally agree Kelsi, it’s always such a good day when dear Neggie is keen to be the first out into the sunshine and check on how the yummy Spring geass is coming along. She’s a treasure!

Negra, the resident horticulturalist! I’m guessing she was the first in line to go outside so she could inspect the growth of the spring grass. Or maybe she was hot to get a closer, better, look at the neighbors. Either way I do enjoy knowing Neggie is the first one out!

Dora seems to bring out the best in everyone. Honey B definitely enjoys being silly with her.

(Perfect song, Kelsi! Fits just right for going outside to explore Youngs Hill on a sunny morning.)

That photograph of Negra, taken two years ago in May, is so poignant. Even in the context of her grief, Negra looks so beautiful, and she exudes an inner strength.

Aw, Krlsi, you guys know that’s music to our ears!
Good to see her and Tiny venturing furyher up the hill. It’s seemed lately that I don’t see the fabulous Ms Fox way up on the hill as much as we used to.

You know spring is here at last when Neggie is the first outside! Looks like everyone went out to enjoy the weather (I didn’t see Missy, but I assume she made her way outside at some point!)
Of course, Honey B and Dora are a riot as usual! Love those gals!

Missy was after Jamie and Bubba, Annie’s bedhead was caught just as they moved the camera to Neggie. Then the Tiny One.
