Missy’s 49th Birthday!

August 23, 2024 by Jenna

Today is Missy’s 49th Birthday!

Unlike previous birthdays for Missy, today was chilly and rainy. However, that didn’t stop the chimps from foraging out on Young’s Hill!

If you aren’t familiar with Missy’s interests, she is our tomato enthusiast. She had at least one form of tomato for each meal so far today. As we speak, caregiver Ellen is making a tomato-based soup for all the chimps to enjoy at dinner. I know Missy will be over the moon!

Happy Birthday to our tomato-lovin’, tree-climbin’, athletic, graceful, birthday girl, Missy! I can’t believe she is 49 years old today. She ages so gracefully.

Missy does not know how she hit the tomato lottery today, but she sure is enjoying every bite of it! Happy Birthday, Missy!

Happy birthday to the coolest athlete/tomato-lover around!!! Missy was really vacuuming up those cherry tomatoes! No pausing, just maximum tomato-getting efficiency. Tell us how the dinner’s tomato soup goes down! I’m sure Missy will be over the moon, but Neggie might appreciate a grilled cheese on the side! 😉

Or, if the kitchen is out of grilled cheese, a side of peanut butter and lettuce will hopefully suffice…

Served between a nice Hawaiian roll, perhaps.

On Marcie’s sponsorship blog I wrote “May tomatoes rain from the sky today” and man did you deliver!! Wow! And a tomato soup inside a tomato. With all this juicy sweet goodness, there’s no doubt Missy was having an excellent birthday. Thank you everyone for spoiling her!

And it looks as if dear Negra had her hair done special for the big occasion today. It appears she used a little product to get her arms and shoulders so gorgeously spiked and floofy.

Happy birthday Missy. Hope you know you much you are loved.

I love that her favorite thing is in season when her birthday comes around! that’s extremely nice of Ellen to make soup, I would have thought gazpacho on August days, but with the weather you’re having it sounds right. it will be interesting to see if they like it!

Happy Birtrhday dear Missy. I think she must feel very special with all those tomatoes at every turn. It is amazing how many she can keep eating but that large one slowed her down – just a little – till she started to eat the small ones in between bites of the big one lol – good for her. She deserves the best birthday with all her favorites. Thank you for giving her such a special party!!!

Watching Missy hoovering up cherry tomatoes reminded me so much of my Dad at a strawberry farm…glad she found that humungous one and I bet she loved the soup.
