Burrito and The New Big Blue Ball

July 23, 2024 by Jenna

Recently, we were donated another giant bowl and big ball! Thank you to all of our donors!

These larger items are used as furniture in the chimp enclosures so they get a ton of usage! Burrito was especially jazzed to see the new items, which you will see in today’s video!

Disclaimer: We’re not sure at what point in Rayne’s life she lost her two front teeth! This is how we’ve always known her.

Hey, speaking of wish lists and generous donors…if you’d like to help supply the sanctuary with food, enrichment, medicines, supplies, and other necessities, please check out our Christmas in July drive and help empty our wish lists!

I’ve always heard that comedians are so sad, and I never understood it until seeing this video. Dear Burrito, playful guy who makes us all laugh. But when watching him with his ever-present object in his mouth I felt hid insecurity for all he’s been through and my heart went out to him. Dear Burrito, enjoy that new ball as you figure out all you can do with it!

Someone needs to create a picture book (for sale) — Burrito, A Boy and His Big Ball.

Gorgeous photos and video, as always you have the knack of making us feel we are almost in the video with you all! My feldenkrais practitioner had me bend over a ball the size of your new big blue ball but I think Buritto had much more fun with his than I had. Maybe it’s not snowing in Cle Elum but it sure has that Christmas feel at the sanctuary. Yuletide greetings to everyone!:sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart:

Nothing like a boy and his ball!!! I love seeing Burrito with his new toy! I got a laugh at how it’s practically the same size as him!

I love the way Burrito gets so much enjoyment out of his favorite toys. It’s been fun seeing the changes in Burrito since he bounced back from his injuries that occurred during the conflict to merge his group with the first arrivals from WW. (A lesson in testosterone or more like the lack there of!) It is often said that Negra has aged in reverse while living in sanctuary. And I believe this to be true, she most definitely has! But so has Burrito. He reminds me of a full-grown youngster. His joy and silliness is so contagious. Can’t imagine what it would feel like to be watching him being a goofball in person. I think I would explode with happiness. That KISS!!! Swoon…..

Thank you, thank you, Jenna, for all of the wonderful bonus photos! I didn’t realize Rayne lost her front teeth, or if I did, I totally forgotten. That photo is priceless and gave me a good chuckle. Annie, forever, beautiful. Same goes for Lucky. Adorable little Dora. And I love the angle of the photograph of Terry. I feel like I’m kneeling down next to him in his nest looking right into his eyes. If only!!! 🙂

oh, I love that he’s got one big enough to sit and bounce on! maybe even too big. Thank you to whomever brought joy to our boy Burrito!

What an, adorable, video of Mr. Play! He is a riot! I guess the comment was correct, that having a block in his mouth gives him security. Such an expressive, inteeligent face. He is a joy to watch.
