Forage Season!

April 18, 2024 by Kelsi

We love forage season! It’s the best time of the year, when the weather is warm enough for chimps to hangout outside! Personally, it’s my favorite time of the year to take pictures of the chimps! I love seeing the grass contrast in the background. Please enjoy these photos of the chimps having a great day!

Burrito getting a bird’s-eye view of his neighbors while eating his kohlrabi:

Later he snagged some sweet potato:

Jamie did very well for herself (the green onion in foot is the best):

Annie bird:

Negra was the first one out this morning and the first one out for the forage:

Foxie eating a carrot:

Foxie in the green grass:

We even got a glimpse of Rayne from Young’s Hill:

Rayne really enjoyed the forage:

Bonus photos of Mave working on a Giant Kong:

*Event coming up* if anyone is in the Washington or Seattle area, we will be tabling at the Planted Expo at the Seattle Convention Center this Saturday, April 20th and Sunday, April 21st from 10 to 5. This will be our first time at Planted and we are really looking forward to it, so come say hi!

Behold, the rare and elusive pan Hibernata emerges again from state of torpor!

I love forage season too! The colors, the sun glistening off the chimps floofy hair, the armfuls of healthy goodies (Do I see fresh strawberries in Jamie’s mouth?!), fun in the sun for everyone ….what’s not to love?! And Negra! Negra being the first one out. Music to my ears.

I hope Ms. Mave ventured outside today. She sure is enjoying all the surprises found in her Kong. What a fun series of photos of her glorious face. Best shot is the last one. Magnificent! Thanks Kelsi.

i just love the picture of Mave inspecting the purple sock, I think she is trying to put her finger in the hole in the sock.
The Planted Expo sounds interesting, maybe we’ll take the light rail downtown.

Wonderful group of photos of the chimps doing what they love. Glad to see Negra hasn’t lost her competitive spirit! And those photos of Mave…….just gorgeous…..look at the concentration on her face.

    Oh, my favorite words!
Glad our Queen is finally awake! Hope the crows weren’t around!
Burrito got the best seat at the movies with snacks!
    Thanks, Kelsi!

Aww, Neggie being the first one out makes me so happy. It’s great to see everyone enjoying the weather.
Also lovely series of Mave and her giant Kong!

seeing Negra first outside is positively heartwarming! I remember when she was hesitant to venture outside at all! It seems to me it was Jody who encouraged and comforted her.
