Over the last month and some change, we have been working to keep Honey B enriched as she recovered from an eye injury that she sustained during a fight in the group. It was an extended recovery process due to the location of the injury and the need to go back in for a revision, so she has spent quite a bit of time away from her group. Last week, we excitedly got to begin re-introducing her to her group!
We decided to begin with monitored ‘play-dates’, where we put Honey B and a friend into the front rooms together during the day. This was helpful for two reasons- one, her eye is still healing so we wanted to be able to separate them if they began grooming her eye too intensely. Second, it allowed for a slower re-introduction process, which was nice since she had been out of the group for a while. The play dates were a great success and on Tuesday she went fully back with her group! She was (and is) so happy to be back with her group mates and they were excited to see her too. And, so far, her eye is still healing well. So, wins all around! 🙂
It’s been so nice to see Honey B getting back into the swing of things and to see how happy she is to be back with her group. It’s been a serious source of compassion satisfaction, that’s for sure. I wanted to take a moment to extend another big THANK YOU to Dr. Erin and the team she put together to ensure Honey B received the best possible care that we could offer her (Leah Bezzo, CRNA; Christine Zielke, CRNA; Tyler Sugerman, DVM; Jerry Woodfield, DVM DACVIM (Cardiology); Karen Brantman-Crosetto, DVM DACVO). It’s truly amazing to see the community of professionals that Dr. Erin has been able to bring together for our residents and we are so grateful!
For today’s blog, I wanted to give you some videos I got while observing Honey B’s play date with Lucky last week. It’s sure to put a smile on your face! 🙂

So happy to see Honey B full of energy and enjoying some rough and tumble with Lucky. I did wonder about re-introduction because of the extended time that she was away, but of course, you had it all planned out. I’m still laughing at her chiropractic skills….a new career perhaps?

That made me laugh, too!

My nephew was a high school wrestling champion. He would appreciate some of those fast throwdown moves and headstand. I am happy to see Honey B back with her group and it’s great news that her eye is healing up so well. Many thanks to all the caring staff at CSNA and all the specialists who took great care of Honey B. Now, let shenanigans commence!!

Thank you, Grace, that was an extended and high energy play session over a headband, when she was sitting on another exactly like it!
Quite the team you had working on her-thanks to each and every one!
I could hear Terry winding up, but couldn’t tell at the end if it was I Spy Cy looking in from the other window (after Mave) or Gordito.
Is Lucky missing some hair on her shoulders, or was that just bc of the tusslin’?

It appears that the new chiropractor in town takes Foot Massage Therapy to an entirely new concept…and elevation. One can assume that a chakra or two of both practitioner and patient was released.

Wrestle Mania!! Wow! That was one wild, laugh packed, sweatband stealing, limb bending play session! Both ladies were having such fun. The satisfaction on Lucky’s face when she snagged the sweatband! And Honey B’s chiropractic back walking maneuver was something I pretty sure I haven’t seen before.
Thank you to everyone who helped Honey B when she needed you. What a relief to see her back to her old silly self.

Welcome home, Honey B! Pant hoots of laughter at the gymnastic antics between Honey B and Lucky and yet they were so graceful in their moves. Many thanks to everyone who got Honey B fit and ready to get back into action big time. Wish I had that lady’s energy.?

Wow! That was one heck of a play session! I shouldn’t be surprised that Nurse Honey B also has a chiropractic practice. Lucky and Honey B are two very fashionable ladies! I think I spotted a choker, an arm band, and a waistband. Those headbands are very versitile.
