Celebrate St. Paddy’s Day with CSNW!

March 17, 2024 by Grace

Happy St. Paddy’s Day, everyone!

Today, we hit the jackpot (literally). It feels like early summer outside, without the wildly frigid wind that we get in the springtime, which made it the perfect day for both groups to have outdoor forages! We celebrated with forages of green Gatorade with a raspberry garnish, corn, fingerling potatoes, beets, and cabbage. The chimps have been in a great mood most of the day, with lots of grooming and playing, and it feels like a breath of fresh air after we’ve all been cooped up inside for the winter. As much as I prefer the cold or rainy days over the heat that comes with the summer months, it does good things for the soul to see the chimps enjoying the sunshine and blue skies.

Photos From The Day:

Annie, lucking out in today’s forage and snagging four pieces of corn

Burrito, enjoying his corn in the sunshine

Sweet, dear Cy relaxing in the afternoon

Foxie, watching the party prep

Jamie, enjoying a purple fingerling potato!

Oh, Neggie and the ravens made me laugh! The nerve of those ravens!
Yay for Lucky and Annie scoring all of that corn! Did Annie actually get to eat all of hers, or did she had to pay a “Neggie tax” at the door?
Jamie still has that cough? Is it only when she eats?

Thanks for a lovely long video! Always enjoy seeing them enjoy life!

What a gorgeous day, so fun to see how much everyone enjoyed it! I laughed out loud at the image of dainty sipping through a straw…while standing on the table!

Oh, the nerve of those ravens, indeed! The Queen was not amused by their unwelcome presence in Her Majesty’s realm. As usual, Her Loyal Subject Foxie proved up to the task to tell them “Nevermore!”

That was some celebration! Negra! Barking, alarm calling, seeking a little bit of reassurance, it all had me worried about what she saw. (I confess, I was hoping it was a harmless little snake because how perfect would that be on St. Patrick’s Day.) Never imagined those trickster Ravens would steal the chimps forage! So funny, but seriously, who do they think they are?! Love little Foxie taking charge.

Mave and Dora are too delicious. As is Dora’s funny expression while playing. And Gordo flirting with Annie. There’s more than spring in the air!

Thanks for making St. Patrick’s Day so much fun for everyone… including me.

I didn’t even think about the snakes and St Paddy’s at all! You’re right!

Oh no! Only Neggie is allowed to enact a royal tax! How dare those crows steal the Queen’s corn! That’s royal property! Luckily, sweet brave little Foxie was off to save the day! She really is the embodiment of tiny but mighty.
Of course, I see that Gordo has his eye on Annie, too. First Foxie, then Jamie, now Annie, he certainly loves flirting with the ladies!
I assume St. Patrick is a personal hero of Annie’s? He drove all of the snakes out of Ireland, I’m sure she would appreciate his services at CSNW greatly.
