Many thanks to Rebecca Babcock for sponsoring a day of sanctuary for the chimpanzees in celebration of her friend, Tobin!
“Happy Birthday Dear Tobin.
Tobin, you have the purest heart and the deepest love for our chimpanzee cousins at CSNW. You remind me of the patron saint of animals, so here’s my ode. Where there is hatred let there be Grooming. Where there is injury let there be Jamie. When there is discord let there be Mave. Where there is doubt let there be Lucky. Where there is error let there be an audit by Cy. Where there is despair let there be Burrito. Where there is sadness Lilacs. When there is darkness, Nightbags for all.”
Have a wonderful day, Tobin!

HAVE A GREAT DAY AT CSNW……
any results from the survey in which we participated this past week…?
the best in PNW site had a countdown to the big reveal when I tried to vote one last time yesterday, Tom. I think I recall it as 85 hours and counting. So, 2-3 days maybe?
The sanctuary has been getting a little extra promo this week.
Most of you have seen by now Vanilla’s Big Day out at Save the Chimps, and the wonder on her sweet little face. Unfortunately, some news stations are not distinguishing between “seeing the OPEN sky” and “seeing the sky” for the first time, and people think that she lived in the dark for 28 years (as did Neggie. and Jeannie. and so many others). That made me feel bad for Wildlife Waystation and all of the caregivers who loved them so much. So I’ve been correcting, and when people ask how I know, I point them to the documentary that Phoenix and Mara did for NAPSA, and make sure that people know that the “after” scenes are from this wonderful place in WA state!
I thought the same thing Linda! Felt bad for wildlife waystation…I thought the same thing Linda! Felt bad for wildlife waystation…
I’m glad it wasn’t just me, Paulette. Always nice to be in good company! :kissing_heart:
Happy Birthday, Tobin. I always enjoy your posts and your kindness and you knowledge of these chimps. Great photos today (and I’m always happy to see Jody included in the series)! Surely in honor of Tobin!
Thank you, Maureen. I am always heartened to see pictures and video of my dear Jody. I loved her then,.I love her now, and forever…
