Mornings In The Chimp House

May 28, 2023 by Grace

Mornings in the chimp house are often super busy! The to-do list is impressive and as soon as we arrive we get started on breakfast prep, enrichment, laundry, and other morning tasks. Then, after breakfast is served to both groups and we’ve finished shifting, we start cleaning the enclosures. Despite the long to-do list, there are often sweet moments to catch all morning. Whether it’s the precious greetings the chimps offer us when we first arrive or little goofy moments between friends as we scrub and squeegee, there’s always something to make you smile.

Today was no exception! As we cleaned, chimps in both groups enjoyed the beautiful summer day. Check out today’s video for more! 🙂

Wow, you deserve bonus points on this video for the way Burrito bounced in time to the music !
    Great pictures today too.
    Thank you. :revolving_hearts:

I had just come back to say that, CeeCee! 🙂

    Sweet, indeed. Thank you, Grace!

Did Honey B finally venture outside?! If she did, that is wonderful news! Two prehensile toes up to her sisters Rayne and Lucky for their encouragement.

    Now it’s your turn, Maeve…

Such sweet grooming interactions among them! All that precious care and gentle searchings for spots to attend to with the grooming. And what patience they have with each other (that is, when they do!). That business with the giant kong is just too funny!

Well, that video just oozes sweetness! I always get a kick seeing Jamie and Burrito playing together. And how can anyone resist taking in Mr. B and his giant Kong?! Then there’s Mora grooming session. Jamie and her boot, fantastic photo! Tell me, Grace, how in the world do you get your work done? Everywhere you look, special moments are unfolding.

I don’t know why….. but, looking at Burrito jumping up and down on that Kong…. I see a World Class Equestrian!:racehorse::racehorse::racehorse::racehorse::grin:

Grace, The video of Burrito really made me laugh, he looked adorable bouncing. Mora grooming was so sweet and tender…those two, love them.

That first pic of cy is super sweet, but I might be a bit biased–or “cy-ist” towards my favourite boy.

What can I say about Mora; a precious love between those two, very sweet and tender.
Did Honey B. go outside, or was she sunbathing in the chute???
And seeing Burrito bouncing had me thinking of a skippyball. Do you know those big round balls with a handle in the front; you sit on it, hold on to the handle and skip away.
I am sure he would love that. ( well…I would love to see that…).
