There’s a lot of love going out to Cy today on his 33rd birthday. Thank you to everyone who sponsored the day in his honor, made donations in his name, and purchased the limited edition Cy’s book club merchandise!
Today was also the first day of Daylight Savings Time. For CSNW, that means that, while we turn the clocks back like everyone else, we keep on the same actual time schedule for the chimp house. So, expect your blog posts an hour later than “usual” (or even later if I’m writing the blog, especially if it’s a party day).
If you haven’t already, please do think of Cy this evening and wish him a happy birthday in your heart. We don’t know what we’d do without him and his leadership over the sometimes rowdy group of nine!

Boy, they get rowdy over the coconuts! That was some rough playing! With so many generous people sponsoring, I’m glad to see the coconuts!
On the other side of the house, good to see Bubba working the raisin board so quickly–wasn’t he the one who was slower to pick up tool use?
Looks like Cy enjoyed his party!

Burrito was a bit slow to pick up on tool use. Look at him now with those raisin board skills! He does still get annoyed with some of the enrichment and tries to use force instead 😉

lol, Missy’s frizen water bottle comes to mind! I guess frustration gets to all of us once in a while! But I was noticing the speed and skill!

A Happy Birthday and a wonderful new year of life to a well-read chimpatarian with refined (if discriminating) tastes.

Just what the big guy and all his rowdy friends needed, a birthday party with coconuts to smash. The book nook set-up was clever and thanks for including Jaime with a book celebration too. Cy and all his rowdy friends, sounds like a good country western song.

What a fabulous book nook! And a great party. You all really do parties so well. Would be great, I think, if the honoree were to know it was all about him/her. Though I guess every day it’s always about him/her, so all’s well with the world.

First, hopefully no spelling mistakes this time. Now the rest, a huge, massive thank you to everyone who made Cy’s birthday so wonderful, chimps and humans alike. It really puts a smile on your face and warmth in your heart to see how much love is given to our cousins by both the other chimps and of course the fantastic human care givers, which the title care givers doesen’t fully cover the care, love and effort that is shown to the chimps at every stage no matter if its a small thing, putting out blankets to the bigger things, a wonderful party. So a huge, massive Happy Birthday Cy, i like others know you had a wonderful time and i wish you many more happy returns. Thank you all for giving us all a smile.

The reading rooms are fabulous! You outdid yourselves. What a fun celebration, for both sides!
Happy Bookfilled Birthday to you dear Cy. And know I always keep Cy, and all the chimps, close in my heart.
