Mave and Dora

January 13, 2023 by J.B.

Sometimes dinner is so exciting that you just need a hug.

On the other side of the building, Jamie and her gang spent some time out on the hill today. We have been under clouds and fog for so long now that we’re wondering if Cle Elum will ever be known again its sunny winters. This morning, Anna came back from outside and exclaimed, “The fog is getting brighter!” We all celebrated the change from gray to light gray. The chimps celebrated, too, by heading out to the hill.

Jamie took along her favorite book:

Burrito followed:

Foxie of course took her doll along to fetch some snow:

Perhaps tomorrow will be an even brighter shade of gray. If not, I might need one of those hugs. Or just a cozy nest:

Terry update: He’s feeling much better and is as playful as ever!

    Oh, those two!
We’ll never know how Missy-Annie, Annie-Missy’s story started, but we can follow these two from the beginning!
I know what you mean by the gray. there has only been one sunny day probably in the last 7 to 10 days here, and that is very rare. even though I grew up in the Midwest and should be used to it, after 20 plus years I have adapted two scene Sunshine at least every 2 or 3 days.

Ohhhh, another photo that has just slayed me!! That Mave/Dora hug is so sweet it just melts my heart. And, of course, Jamie with her book way up high surveying her territory — how could I not be undone by the sweetness of it all!? Another person experiencing the enrichment of it all?? — ME!!!! Thanks to this amazing community in so many ways!

That hug was beyond endearing! And to think a hug that sweet is simply because food being served.

Jamie looks so happy. She is not letting the fog get her down. Honey B is the Princess and the Pea. What a nest! And thanks for the update and photo of Terry, I’ve been concerned about him. It appears he has his spark back.

If that hug doesn’t bring happy tears to your eyes, nothing will! Absolutely perfect. And good news about the Raspberry King…..if that’s a photo from yesterday, he’s certainly got his lovely smile back. Do you have to keep lots of spares for Jamie…..I imagine she doesn’t always bring them back in?

Jamie is usually good about bringing her books back in with her but they get destroyed quickly when she leaves them around inside – they get wet, peed on, etc. They usually last awhile, though, because she will carry them with her when they are down to just one page. Foxie often leaves her dolls outside, which means that in the spring we find them all around when the snow recedes.

I just have to applaud what Marya said above: all your enrichment goes far beyond the chimps, you enrich me, too! So great to see Honey B in her nest, I really am glad that Wilie B;s family and Cy’s family have merged and are living together as friends. That’s a big win for everyone. I’m a little jealous of your new medical/dental equipment! Makes my dentist look mediavel, which he is.
