Burrito’s 40th Birthday Bash

January 6, 2023 by J.B.

I could say a lot about the significance of this occasion but that will have to wait for another day. For now, I’ll just say that we all love this guy more than anything and we’re so happy to be celebrating his 40th birthday.

Happy Birthday, Bubs!

Lol, that was mean of you to make Kelsi and Anna put that together!
The power tools Jamie has been dreaming of…I knew she’d go right for it!
Thanks for the long video, JB. Seeing him with the kong,.bouncing….any reason a hippity hop wouldn’t work for them? I don’t think they cpuld puncture it. And you could get a child’s sized one through doors easily, I think.

We used to have a boat bumper in the playroom that they were able to puncture so I’m guessing they could destroy a hippity hop?

Hmmmmm ….Wonder just what the longevity is for those stuffed animals….. that’s right Burrito… show them who’s boss : )…. does he even chew or does the pasta just slide down? Here’s to you Bubba ?Happy Birthday:balloon:

The larger ones tend to last for quite a while. Unfortunately, the small ones can get completely “de-stuffed” pretty quickly, sometimes on the first day.

Don’t you just love those easy to assemble toys?!! Well done ladies! Thank you J.B. for the eight minute video.

What a bash! Coconut, pasta served with a pasta cam view, hooded blankets, big stuffed animals and squishy critters, and, best of all, big bouncy Kongs (with demo by none other than the birthday boy himself). Burrito looked so happy! (Well, he almost always looks ridiculously happy.) There’s no doubt about it, Burrito made it to 40 thanks to all of you and your loving care.

Happy, laughter, food filled 40th year to you, precious Burrito. XO

You got that right ….Ridiculously Happy and definitely Precious. WE LOVE YOU BURRITO

you know, I always wonder if they realize, and I think they do, that they’re in a better place than they were before. Some of them are hard to read. I particularly think of the changes that Jamie and Burrito went through, going from being pets with the run of the house to lab research, and back again. but every time I see Burrito, it’s really obvious that this guy is having the time of his life… in sanctuary

Happy birthday B-man! Looks like you and your friends, both human and chimp, had a wonderful day!

    I love the special plates!

Any reason why the caregivers smashed the coconuts themselves? I’m sure most of the chimps could get into them in no time!

    Love and pant-hoots from England!

    • Linda C says

      January 7, 2023 at 5:59 am

I think it’s out of fairness, to make sure everyone gets some. 7 coconuts for seven chimps doesn’t help if someone steals 2 or 3

    • Kathleen says

      January 7, 2023 at 6:48 am

Yes, the plates were perfect! I forgot to mention those. Gave me a good laugh! You caregivers/party planners/toy builders think of everything.

    • J.B. says

      January 7, 2023 at 7:35 am

Yes, whole coconuts are fun but they are easily hoarded by one or two chimps. Also, not all of the chimps know how to crack them open. So sometimes smashing them to bits is the only way to ensure that everyone gets to enjoy them.
