A Plum Day

January 31, 2023 by Chad de Bree

Today started off as any other. Caregivers arrived, served breakfast, and began their tasks of cleaning of the day prior. When the door leading to Young’s Hill opened, the members of Jody’s group were eager to set off on their morning adventures.

Burrito, of course, wanted to take his morning run. Cold doesn’t seem to bother him one bit when it comes to his morning exercise. Between his sprints, he would take a break and seem to just take it all in.

As we were nearing the top, I caught something out of place in my peripheral vision. Something that stood out like a sore thumb amongst the brown and yellow foliage of winter.

This purple-haired figure on top of a moving black mass could only be one thing…

It’s Plum Pudding hitching a ride on Foxie!

After reaching the top of the hill, Foxie and Plum Pudding headed back to the Chimp House…

But not before a little thrilling adventure!

Plum Pudding ended up in a perilous predicament!

And only Foxie could save her!

This rescue was so dramatic, Jamie had to be a bystander to witness it all unfold!

But nonetheless, Foxie would not give up on her Puddin’! She was able to rescue her and whisk her back to safety!

Bonus Photo of Cy during a game of chase!

You just gotta love Foxie! She is never without a doll, so is the easiest to recognise anywhere. P.S I will miss Anthony calling out in his special way to Honey B in the background at different times. I had been thinking about that and why it sounded familiar…then i got it. He says it like Elvis when he calls it out!

That’s how I knew…ahem!… Anthony was her favorite

Thanks, Chad! Good to see Foxie with her adventure pants on. Always.

Oh the drama of the Puddin’ rescue. Whew, glad it all turned out OK. Thanks for Cy’s photo; what magazine today?

I love these photographs! It is so pleasing to see a Jody drooping her lower lip in all her elf-eared glory; better still, Plum Puddin’ was rescued from peril by Foxie’s fortuitous foresight! Alas, Young’s Hill could do with some more snow…did Burrito already devour the season’s supply?

I suspect Tobin, that Foxie was the cause of Pudding’s peril…..
So good for her to set things straight!

Oh the thrills you must see on Young’s Hill!! Isn’t it wonderful that after all these years Foxie and her dolls have such fun together! Never a dull moment. Hope Burrito didn’t exhaust you on his morning dash patrol.

Foxie, Burrito, Jody, and Jamie remind us all that the outside world holds so much beauty and wonder in store for us. Don’t take it for granted, get outside everyday and enjoy it.
