The Eleventh Day of Christmas

December 24, 2022 by Jenna Skinner

It’s Christmas Eve!

On the eleventh day of Christmas, the donors gave to us… giant wolf blankets! Although they are large and fill up an entire washing machine on its own, they are truly so loved by the chimps! As you will see in today’s video, so many of the chimps incorporate these blankets into their nests at night. They are warm, cozy, and huge! Not sure about you, but that checks off all my boxes when it comes to blanket criteria.

Special thanks to:

Lisa B. for donating wolf blankets

While labeled for Honey B in the auction, everyone will get great use out of these new blankets. Even when it warms up!

“looks like we’re gonna need more washing machines….”
Watching Bubba trying to handle it while on the barrel was funny. I think we need to get that young man a snuggy!
I wonder, Jenna, has there ever been a blanket that went through that made people want to keep it for themselves! Not that you would…but you’d think about it? I’m under one atm that I bought last year when getting one for the chimps, too. It’s dark green, and oh so soft!

Honey B. and Negra has this blanket figured out perfectly. The photos are a wonderful gift to us. Thank you!

It’s been so heartwarming to see them all enjoying their Christmas gifts…..will tney expect something every day all year now??? I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to you all for all the work you do in looking after these special chimp people all year….we know it’s not always glamourous or easy, but we see the results in happy healthy chimps and bovines with every photo and video. Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year!

Happy Christmas Eve to everyone! How is it Burrito always manages to steal the show? I think the blanket is so big and heavy he couldn’t keep it on him. Is he stil sitting there trying his best to wrap himself up?! Quick! Go check on him and see.

It’s wonderful everyone enjoys the blankets. (Even if it takes an entire day to wash all the blankets one at a time. Worth it!)

Mave must have been snuggling under a huge wolfblancket somewhere
where the camera did not catch it……?

Now don’t tell the chimps, but wolves are my favorite animal! You know i’m going to call you about where i can get me one of those giant wolf blankets! The pix with the 3 chimps in a row is priceless! How do they get to do that with no fussing or fighting, i wonder?
