I spent most of today trying to capture footage of Burrito interacting with his new burrito Squishmallow for today’s blog. However, it just wasn’t happening! He kept running by it and wanting to play chase with his caregivers instead. He’ll play with it later, I’m sure!

Instead for today’s video, I wanted to focus on Cy and his love for reading. I was able to capture him reading while cleaning the Mezzanine recently. This angle shows how much he scans each page and picture of his magazine, something you can’t always see from the other angles. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

What intelligent beings! So impressive! I can see that humans are so closely related!

do they see color or shades….?
it is interesting to see them apply skills like turning the pages and generally looking at the right side-up view….

Waiting for the day when he licks his finger to turn a page.

Cy and Jamie just slay me with their reading interests. Beings after my own heart for sure. It’s such a pleasure watching them interact with their reading materials, page-turnings and all. I’d love to have a conversation with them about their choices of materials, what they think of the images they see, etc. I’ll have to make it up in my head but maybe I could channel their separate energies and come up with a plausible (??) dialogue! I’ll have to work on that! In the meantime, thank you, Jenna!!

I saw that title, Jenna, and thought it was Anthony writing the blog. You got me, well done!
Cy is focused on his reading material. Clearly enjoys checking out all the photos. No wonder he likes People magazine! All those photos crammed on each page like a collage. Eye candy for Cy!
Burrito! I’m betting he is bouncing on that burrito squishmallow this very moment. 🙂

Cy fascinates me. Wish I could get in his head. You all are so lucky to get to be friends with all of them. I’m so envious!

Does anyone know if apes are near-sighted? I see so many pictures of them bending forward, getting their face so close to what they’re looking at. Is there even a way to guage this?
