Dora and Honey B Reunited

May 14, 2022 by Diana

I think we’ve mentioned before that we know from Wildlife Waystation caregivers that Terry, Willy B, Dora and Honey B used to live together years ago. We also know that Mave and Gordo were roomies a while back too.

Today, when I was taking this video of Dora and Honey B, Willy B was grooming with Terry and Mave was grooming with Gordo. It’s nice to see these chimpanzee friends back together. ❤️

You guys are spoiling us with all of the cool videos! (and we’re not complaining!)
Glad to hear that Terry has some old friends as well, and that the gorilla gave him some time!

i’m just so in love with all of them! And I am just so incredibly happy and grateful to see them integrated with their friends, and can’t wait For their next steps: outdoors!

I can’t help but wonder what they must be thinking now that these groups are back together at long last. How fun, how comforting, how “I remember you! Where have you been? And how did we ever get so lucky to be together again here in Cle Elum?!”

Really. They are all so very lucky to now be together with you.

Its so exciting all your hard work at integrating the 2 groups is paying off !

I agree…..how lucky are we to witness “the great reunion”, and I am so happy that all the hard work is paying off!
And to me as an outsider, it feels like this is a great family group, with old friends back together and new friendsships to be established.
    WELL DONE!!!!
(and I mean humans and chimps).

I’m sure they remember….there are lots of studies on animal long term memories and it’s so lovely to see them renewing friendships. This seems to be working out really well after all your hard work…..how long until you can breathe again and feel confident that it’s permanent??

Has the new group established a hierarchey? With such a mix of personalities, I am generally curious of this along with how as caregivers you minimize any say, “P!ss!ing Matches”, between strong personalities.

I’ve been wondering, but didn’t want to jinx anything yet!
