Sometimes the world feels chaotic, but then you look over at Negra and a sense of calm washes over you. Negra is the perfect example of never losing your cool, unless necessary. With the exception of demanding chow and peanuts, because well she is hungry and we are slow!
Speaking of chimps that give you a sense of calm!

Beautiful Neggie….it’s like, her superpower…
Much needed, thank you, Kelsi!
Your are so right. It’s her superpower! I think I will check into this specific post daily to keep me calm and in the moment.
Girl, I’ve got the Dalai Lama on speed dial these days!
I think the word ‘serene’ was invented for Negra. I use photos of the chimps as my computer background and change them every few days. Well, at the moment, I have a wonderful photo of Neggie wearing one of her colourful blankets over her head as always….I must admit it’s been there about two weeks because it does me good to look at her beautiful face so much.
What beautiful pictures!!
Queen Negra is simply beautiful, inside and out??
Queen Negra is simply beautiful, inside and out??
Beautiful Negra, Rayne, Cy… well all/all things at the sactuary are beautiful. As so is your title of your blog.
Thank you for the smile and “Sense of Calm”, Kelsi.
What beautiful faces! I feel a nice dose of serotonin coursing through my own veins!
We all get hangry, sweet Negra. xo
“Beauty will save the World,” so wrote (the now-cancelled) Dostoyevsky. Looking at these photographs of these beautiful individuals is balm for the soul. If I had to guess, Cy is digesting the March issue of Esquire or GQ, and —rather than yawning — Rayne is recalling who she socialized with at Willy’s birthday party yesterday. As for Negra, what a gift her very presence exudes. If she only knew how revered and cherished she is by hundreds of human primates; then again, maybe she does.
“Sometimes the world feels chaotic, but then you look over at Negra and a sense of calm washes over you.” YES! I am not sure if these words were ever shared by your magnificent blog writers before but today, Kelsi, you nailed it. Every single time I see Negra’s precious face, from head to toe, mind to heart, I sigh with joy. Negra’s essence is contagious.
And then there’s Rayne and Cy looking so deliciously calm. Cy is so chill he gave up gossip magazines and he’s now reading about “The Art Of Safe Crafting”.
Thank you, Kathleen! That means so much!
There’s something about Negra.
