Outdoor Habitat Expansion

March 25, 2022 by Diana

We are pretty darn excited about the expansion projects underway at the sanctuary! I predict Jamie is going to LOVE her new patrol routine.

Learn more about all that’s happened the last two years and the future/current projects on the Future of CSNW page on our website.

Construction costs have gone way up, so if you have the ability to donate, we would really appreciate it!

In addition to all of the various ways you can contribute every day, there will be a few special opportunities throughout the year, including the upcoming GiveBig and the in-person HOOT! fundraising fête in September. Reach out if you want to talk to me about donation and sponsorship opportunities.

Every animal deserves the kind of love you give these beautiful chimps!

It will be interesting to see their individual reactions to the great outdoors. It’s going to be a whole new world! Maybe Cy will find a special spot for reading.

Thanks for the peek at the new outside expansion. It really is exciting.

Burrito and Foxie were having fun together but Boss Jamie was all business, as to be expected. I wonder what she thinks of the fence posts going in. After having the same sapce for all these years could there be anxious feelings brewing seeing changes taking place? I guess the best part is that the Seven get the chance to observe the progress, be curious about it, and feel the excitement (and maybe a touch of anxiety) of the “new”.

Im so excited for the 7 to get to be amongst the trees! And for Cy’s group to get to experience so much natural outdoor space – wow! i feel like there will be a safety in numbers mentality with the 6, and they will quickly love their new spaces to explore. Can’t wait!!!

Exactly! First, I’m hoping all six will be brave enough to venture out. Then, I’m hoping that gives the three more courage to venture out. An even better scenario would be that the two groups are integrated first. The three have seen the seven out and about. But that didn’t give Honey B and Mave the confidence to go out themselves. But if they are integrated, perhaps a new friend will encourage them.
