Today was a warm, sunny, and windy 56F degree weather day, perfect to enjoy from inside the green houses. All three green houses were packed with chimps napping and relaxing all afternoon. Jamie and her six friends went on multiple walks around the hill only to come back and relax again. Willy B, Mave and Honey B got access to the Courtyard where Willy B spent a big chunk of time basking under the warm sun. He did not seem to mind the Spring wind at all. The girls remained in the chute enjoying the day. Lucky, and the other five members of her group spent almost the entire day in the green house as well. With optimal napping spots up in the platforms, and raisin board enrichment as extra enticement, it was no surprise that it was just the place to be all day. Even the cattle and Barn Kitty were spotted enjoying this day in the most relaxing ways.

Rayne napping…until she heard the “click” of the camera…sorry 🙁
Lucky resting but watching my every move from the platform in the green house

Even Barn Kitty was into the sun’s warmth for some nice resting time

Around Honey I see some green blades of grass tentatively appearing from their winter’s slumber. Was it just a mere two months ago that the Sanctuary grounds were covered with the bounty from the Snowmageddon? No doubt today’s forecast makes it easier for an peripatetic Barn Kitty to wander about.

You still didn’t catch Honey B with her eyes closed though did you?

It is so great to see the chimps being able to enjoy and explore the outdoors, especially since their previous habitat only included caging
all around them!! You are all doing a great job…Thank you!!

Burrito drenched in sunshine, such a delightful sight! Since we had a cloudy day today, Burrito can be my sunshine. Jeepers, I love this silly guy.
I have often wondered if the click of the camera would wake up someone who was napping — now I know! Poor Rayne, but she looks so cozy I’m guessing she went right back to snoozing. And I chuckled when I saw Lucky’s photo. She seems to like that spot, or any spot up high looking down over the hardworking humans. Lucky has her usual content expression. Life is good. And the cattle and Barn Kitty clearly agree.

I would have thought that nowadays the camera’s would be “click-less”…..knowing that a phone camera has an “turn-on-or-off-click” just for our benefit so we can tell that the photo is taken.
And I see that Barn Kitty is a boy; the tip of his right ear is clipped as a sign that he is a nutered boy…. I was wondering if the left-for-girls-and-right-for-boys-ear-clip was global and is looks like it is..
The cattle always confuse me..they seem to change collor on every photo I see of them.
They look very healthy and happy lying there waiting for the gras to grow a little taller.

So, it’s Thursday morning and another dreary day. I thought of the blog and dropped in to see Mr B smiling in his sunshine! Please tell him I adore him and everything about him makes me smile.
