Days like Today

March 8, 2022 by Chad de Bree

After taking in several days of great weather, we are back to winter conditions. What started off as rain, quickly turned into snow, with it supposed to last throughout the afternoon and into the night. With a day like today, the chimpanzees are spending most of the day in their nests on the upper story, where it is nearly impossible to get any photos. But who can blame them. It’s the perfect day to just cozy up and nap.

I was able to get some sporadic photos here and there though.

Terry greeting me in the morning.
Jody resting in the front rooms in her nest.
Mave came down for a few minutes before going back up to her nest.
Cy enjoying the latest gossip magazine.
Honey B with her turnips during lunch.
Honey B! (That’s a tomato seed on her lip.)

Thank you for todays pictures Chad,
The one of Terry made me laugh, and I could watch Cy reading all day long…That face !:revolving_hearts:

Thank you for these great photos! I am enjoying getting to know the chimpanzees (& bovines) much better. After the last days, it is encouraging to see pictures that make one smile:blush:

    Love the photo of Terry!!
Honey B’s eyes! In the header photo you can practically see her brain ticking over as she looks at the camera, I wonder what she is thinking

Thanks, Chad! I still can’t get over how massive Cy’s fingers are! And once again, Jo shows the wirld how photogenic she is! Happy “out like a lion” day!

Jody wins the day with the sweetest picture!
But Honey B – I mean just look at her! She has it all. Looks, charm, devilishness, personality galore!

I only wish I had as much focus as Cy does! These days my mind’s often a sieve and there he is with such determination and intensity! A good role model for me. I swear he’s researching in order to write a novel which he & Jamie can collaborate on. She would (of course) have to be first author on it. Thanks for these wonderful pics, Chad. Despite the renewed winter conditions, sooner rather than later the lilacs will be blooming again & Jody can once again look at them with rapture (before eating them).

On a day when you said you had difficulty getting photos it appears to be the opposite! These photos are terrific! Every photo celebrates the uniqueness of each individual. My goodness, aren’t they magnificent?!

Thanks for placing a big fat smile on my face.

chad, do you ever wonder if Cy can actually read? These amazing souls shouldnt be underestimated, in my humble opinion.

I agree with CeeCee! Terry is my pal and he cracks me up. I also could watch Cy reading all day long?

Terry’s pic reminds me of his play-face in one of his introductory playdates with Mave :joy: That play-dace stole my heart! ?
