Lucky Calls the Shots

February 2, 2022 by Kelsi

It is important to be flexible during the introduction process. For example, it has been a while since Cy and Willy B had some one on one time with each other. They have been dying to get some alone time together, but it isn’t always up to the shifting person. Some days you get a Gordo who just waltz into a room, not quite realizing what he might have signed himself up for, but I mean it’s Gordo so you have take the opportunity! Or like today you get a Lucky who simply won’t leave the front rooms. My goal as lead today was to get a “bro date” set up for them. I had it almost all set up, Willy B was alone in the Mezzanine, but I need to get Cy alone in the front rooms. Atlas, with all my best efforts I did not win the shifting battle! There is nothing wrong with Lucky not leaving, it just means a change in plans. So we went up to the Mezzanine to see if anyone would join Willy B for a quad! Honey B politely obliged! We have done this quad before, but it is important to build strong relationships, so repeats of the same intros are just fine! Make sure your volume is on for the video. There is a lot of grooming noises or what we like to call “teeth clacking”!

    Hi, Kelsi!
Well, Mr Handsome’s teeth were going a mile a minute! In the end, the guys got their time together, and the girls were on the other side of the room, like a 7th grade dance!

The only thing I see wrong with this is that Mavelous probably spent the day alone. Did she get a spa day?

So, now, when is the next slumber party for this quartet (plus the human chaperone)? Assuming that Neggie’s appetite compelled her to emerge from her blanket-nest this morning and she saw her shadow, it looks like the Greater Metropolitan Young’s Hill Area could be in for another six weeks of winter.

Absolutely the highlight was seeing, close-up, action of Willy B chomping on his lettuce! Awesome, Fantastic! I, always, remember your saying that we love the sound of animals crunching, but, do not tolerate hearing those eating sounds from, another, human!

Willy B and Cy are too much!! All that clacking sounded like someone hammering, or clogging. Lucky seems so sweet and shy. Seeing Honey B finally approach and hold Lucky’s hand was a nice shared moment. Some friendships start off with a bang, others build slowly. Very much like us human primates.

Thanks for including Willy B munching his bok choy. (Were the chimps celebrating the lunar new year yesterday?) Willy B eats with such enthusiasm! I love the way he loves his food.

Good luck with the ongoing play dates.

oh gosh. It’s almost painful to listen to that teeth clacking. Lordy would I have a headache! I kept worrying about broken teeth!

I loved Honey B’s approach to Lucky. Made me proud. 🙂
