We’re so lucky to have a second lovely Sponsor a Day today! Many thanks to Colleen Andrews, who is celebrating her sister, Ariel, on her birthday!
“In honor of my wonderful, kind and loving sister Ariel on her birthday. She has worked tirelessly in an Emergency Room hospital during Covid and now works in palliative care at a hospital sharing her knowledge, compassion and wisdom to patients who will be passing to the other side. I know how very lucky these people and their families are to have her advocating for them. She, like all the caregivers at CSNW give so much of themselves to our world. Because of all of you, my faith in humanity soars! Happy Birthday Sis! Love you.”
Colleen, thank you so much for choosing to celebrate Ariel this way and share both your kind hearts with the chimps and the bovines!
Happy Birthday, Ariel! Thank you for the dedicated care, dignity and comfort you share with so many and the difference you make in so many lives. Even, and especially, for the differences which you may never be aware of. And thanks for helping to make so much possible in the lives of all those who call the sanctuary home. Have a beautiful day of celebration! It lifts our hearts knowing about you!

Happy Birthday Ariel!
It takes someone special to do palliative care. Thank you for being there for others at such a time.
Have a great birthday!

Thank you, Colleen, for celebrating Ariel and sharing it with the chimps and the rest of us! Yep, palliative care work takes someone with a special measure of heart and soul, and I’m so grateful for people who have the courage and deep heartfelt presence to be there for others in that role, both the patients and their family members. These pics are just so endearing starting with Rayne and Dora’s preciousness together, and Gordo: how does he fit into that box?! — and Jamie, well, it’s Jamie, so what else needs to be said? And Annie & Missy, what a pair! Thank you, Katelyn, for your efforts in sharing these pics with us.

What extraordinary people follow these pages, and work directly with the chimps! Happy Birthday!
That first picture, of Dora and Rayne, show shows such love and compassion. It would be beautiful in a frame. And Gordo in that box- he should be too big for it, right? But there he is, in all his glory.
The day is just not complete without this blog!
