Blissful Sunday

February 13, 2022 by Sam Jones

It was another really nice day outside and most of the chimpanzees in Burrito’s group were out on Young’s Hill all morning. This warmer weather has the chimpanzees and humans all in great moods! Burrito was back to having Chad run around the hill, while Jamie raced Katelyn who was driving the Gator. Also, Burrito was very determined to get some ice out of the tire this morning and spent a long time working on it.

Success!

Annie was all over Young’s Hill. Every time I looked she was in a different spot.

Missy in front and Annie walking behind her.

Foxie made her way to Jamie’s tower.

On the other side everyone was hanging out in their warm Greenhouses for the afternoon.

Gordo was watching a grooming party going on above him.

And snacking on some bamboo.

Honey B needed a rest after a long game of chase!

Earlier today Cy was relaxing after breakfast.

Gordo too!

We may have to start calling it “Foxie’s tower!”
Every time I see them go after that tire ice, I wonder if it tastes funny…
Thanks, Sam! Enjoy the rest of Sunday!

I think the same thing about the tire ice. Does it have a hint of rubber flavor? And if it does, perhaps this makes it all the better. :). Only Burrito knows for sure.

And Jody. She loves that tire ice, too!

It doesn’t matter if you a hanging on Young’s Hill or relaxing in the sunny greenhouses, a warm day is good for the soul. Thanks for all the great photos Sam!

    Gordo always looks so debonair.

Sam, thanks for sharing these with us. What a great combination of shots. I love seeing the folks outside running around and that picture of Cy with his chin resting in his hand was quite a shot. Just perfect. Well, they all are in their own ways, no doubt about that!

I love to see them on Young’s Hill after being held inside for a while. Looking forward to Negra in the tall spring grass! Heaven

Oh it will be so grand when EVERYONE gets to go out to acres of open top enclosures, Some for the first time EVER! I often wonder what they think and feel while watching the others out on Young’s Hill. Soon you too, Cy & Co., will have the choice.

Seeing them all lined up against the window looking out at the chute leads me to believe that this group will head outside as soon as they get the chance
