We Meet Again

January 18, 2022 by Chad de Bree

There were a lot of familiar meetings today.

First, Honey B and Lucky had a meeting with each other. Though things started off slow when they came together, they did eventually did start playing.

As some of you know, Honey B can be dialed to 11 when she plays, Lucky is usually at a 7 on a good day.

All-in-all, their meeting was pretty positive and they seemed to enjoy each others company.

On the other side of the building, the weather finally provided us a break to be able to shovel parts of Young’s Hill. After a few hours of digging out Young’s Hill from the Snowmageddon snowfall by Sam, Anna, Diana, and J.B., Jamie and her group were finally able to go out onto Young’s Hill!

Jamie with Burrito behind her.
Missy in Neggie’s Cabin.
Jody seemingly happy with her harvest of snowy treats.
Annie bipedally walking through one of the pathways.
Burrito taking in the sights of Young’s Hill.

Here are some bonus photos from the day:

Rayne and Dora grooming in their greenhouse.
Gordo looking as handsome as ever in his greenhouse.

I was wondering when Lucky and her troop would be meeting again with her sister Honey B’s trio. Perhaps their play date started off slow due to a backlog of grooming that they had for each other. I loook forward to more clacks between the titans Willy and Cy this year (with any luck, Mr. Willoughby won’t bring along any picture books of cattle to their meeting, lest Rayne is nowhere to be found to “cancel” any offending imagery).

A day full of surprises and fun! Nice knowing Lucky and Honey B spent time together. I especially like that last photo of Lucky.

The shoveling crew gets a round of applause! That snow must be quite heavy by now after its been sitting and compacting, Ugh. But oh so worth it to see everyone back out on Young’s Hill! These photos are simply fantastic with the sunshine on everyone’s face. Really lovely lighting. (Annie is always so funny in the snow. I love her.) And then there’s that sweet cozy grooming session with Dora and Rayne followed by charming Gordo. Oh what a face!

Thanks Chad. I hope this is the end of your snow reorganization.

Gordo sure is a handsome fella! Love that pic of him.

So happy Jamie’s group got to go out today – even though it took A LOT of shoveling to make that happen!

Looks like everyone had an enjoyable day. Makes me happy to see them enjoying life.

I think they haven’t finished their outdoor area yet. They’ve only eaten snow

I love seeing the chimps in the snow. Beautiful photos. Annie knows to stay on the path!

I like that the deep channels in the snow have the chimps walking upright. i’m just always captivated by that. i’m sure they were so happy to be outside again! I’m sure they felt very cooped up when they’re so used to being outside anytime they want. LOVE Jody’s expression!
