Mostly Quiet Day

January 26, 2022 by Kelsi

It’s that time of year when it’s cold outside and the chimps are hard to find. It was a relatively quiet day, of course as I write this blog I can hear the three groups starting to shout back and forth to one another, but that is to be expected with sixteen chimpanzees. The chimps spent most of their day grooming and nesting in high places, so capturing photos were few and far between. However, we can always find Honey B in the front rooms! Honey B and Mave spent the morning napping close to each other or grooming quietly with one another. Please enjoy these images of Mave and Honey B, I really tried to get more photos!

Cy thought you might want to know we just added some magazine subscriptions to the Amazon wish list!

Hey, we’ll take what we can get! Don’t feel bad kelsi. we readers are just blessed to get a blog every single day.

About Cy, and reading materials: libraries have magazines right? And I’m sure they let go of old issues. Perhaps contact a local library for anything they could hold for you? Just a thought…

I didn’t mean to dump another project in your hands, contacting local libraries. But perhaps one of our commenters here who perhaps live in the area could reach out??

Hi Paulette! Yes it’s a great idea! It’s funny you mention that because last week we had a volunteer help us get magazines from the library! I think the library will be continuing their donation to us! I can’t believe we had never thought of that before!

Check with college libraries, ise your CWU connections! Circulation people tend to clear out past year’s issues in May, in my experience!

Though I am reluctant to advocate censorship, it may be prudent (please refer to the blog post of 1.12) to delete from Cy’s provision of reading material such periodicals as “Cattleman’s Quarterly” and “Moo: the Magazine for Bovine Lifestyles.”

Meanwhile, could it be that our Mave is fondly musing about her recent afternoon guest? (“Oh Gordito, oh Gordito, where art thou?”)

Kelsi, ANY photos are always welcome and these are great. I’m sure that beautiful Mave was a model at some time…she has all the cute poses! I do miss hearing about some of the others….Missy, Annie, Jody, Foxie and I enjoyed the recent update on our beautiful boy Burrito. It must be hard to keep up with the whole crowd now though….more cleaning up and more mouths to feed!

I do, too, but I think it’s a question of which house the person whose turn at the blog is up is working in that day

Hi Kelsi! I always enjoy the enthusiasm you bring to every one of your posts. Toss in a photo to accompany your story and I’m thrilled. Always.

That photo of Honey B and Mave absorbing all the warmth from the radiant heat floors is pretty funny. If you didn’t know the floors were heated you might wonder why those two gals are lying on the floor instead of nesting in the blankets and paper that are strewn around them. Mave’s little bod looks so cute in that photo too.

Poor Cy! Great idea going to libraries and adding subscriptions to your Amazon Wish List. However, your mail carrier is going to wonder why you are receiving dozens of People magazine every week!! :grinning:

A few weeks back I did a search for magazines or catalogs that are free. And I signed up both Jamie Chimpanzee and Cy Chimpanzee for a couple I thought they’d like. Right now I can’t for the life of me remember what they were though!

    Hi Kelsi,
I ordered People for Cy last week. Hopefully his subscription will start soon.
    Thanks, Michele
